Brown-Forman Herradura Express Supervisor in Amatitán, Mexico

Job Description:


Coordinates and plans all train runs logistics as well as all Herradura Express guest service activities in and out the Casa Herradura distillery.

In charge of operations, labor, vendors, budgets, ticketing, sales and marketing strategies, as well as business development of the program.

Basic Function:

Direct responsibility for leading a workforce of tequila express direct and supporting employees as well as planning, budgeting and execution of all activities associated with the operation of the Herradura Express program.

Facilitates and administers its operational activities associated with the Guest Services Department. These activities include train runs, Herradura Express tour and stations management, janitorial management and facility and landscaping maintenance.

Assumes responsibility with a minimal supervision, possessing initiative and judgment in making decision with the scope of job authority.

Coordinates prospect for new visitors and industry alliances by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients and industry suppliers.

Sets targets for sales and provides support that will continually improve the relationship with customers. Grows and retains accounts by presenting improved experiences and services to clients.

Manages the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company.

This position requires a thorough knowledge of the market, tequila industry/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors


A. Planning/Operations 40%

Manages the operation of the Herradura Express Program, facilitating the seamless flow of runs along with its corresponding distillery experiences servicing the visitors.

Provides input in the development of annual operating plans and budgets for all Herradura Express related operations (including but not limited to train runs and visits, operating, and marketing cost centers).

Provide an overview to Manager on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis regarding on-going operational performance and variances to the budget.

Responsible for Maintenance of the commonly used Homeplace facilities, grounds and Janitorial personnel. Negotiate and manage annual contracts and schedule outside vendors for facility and landscape maintenance.

Conducts monthly walk through of facilities to ensure that areas needing attention are addressed. Responsible for R&M budgets for facilities and an annual schedule with budget of repairs and maintenance.

B. Distillery Experiences 50%

Recruit, train, supervise and motivate the Herradura Express fixed and supporting team to ensure that every visitor has a memorable experience that is aligned with brand goals. Provide for training and professional development on an ongoing basis.

Manage and properly maintain the Herradura Express operation, and overall scheduling and servicing of activities and other developed programs.

Oversee smooth operation and coordination of the program’s events, activities, and efforts. Assist visitors while on property, as needed.

Maintain current and accurate Herradura Express and Staff Training Manual incorporating new information and procedures on a regular basis.

Prepare monthly visitor experience staff and support staff work schedule based on group bookings.

Develop unique tours and experiences to incorporate into existing Herradura Express activity portfolio to enhance the visitor experience (i.e. tech tours, etc.) and encourage return visits to the train.

Develop and update new activities and enhancement to the program to ensure brand experiences. Run changes by Homeplace Manager for final approval.

Other Duties 10%

Inventory control of product for each Herradura Express run.

Supplier billing and payment management.

Must Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business administration or related area with 3-5 years various in-depth experience with knowledge of special event planning, hospitality management techniques or and associate degree in marketing, business administration and event planning or relative area and 4-7years equivalent, related education/experience.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both within the department and with external contacts and willingness and ability to participate as an active team member with the Guest Services, distillery and other departments.

Demonstrated ability to work in self-managed environment with high degree of initiative and inquisitiveness.

Excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to clearly and tactfully respond to inquiries and compose routine correspondence and presentations as directed.

Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects requiring accuracy and attention to detail to ensure completion within designated time frames. Demonstrated self-starter with ability to make independent judgment.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to all B-F/CH management levels and with individuals

Ability to set and meet multiple priorities and deadlines with limited supervision.

Ability to make decisions and follow through with multiple tasks.

Ability to work flexible hours for a seven day a week operation tourism operation.
