Brown-Forman Brand Manager Super Premium American Whiskey - Germany (18 months) in Hamburg, Germany

Job Description:


Our beautiful and unique “American Whiskey Super Premium portfolio” plays an important role for long term profit growth and premiumization of the BF Germany portfolio.

This position is responsible for development and execution of the full marketing mix for our Super Premium American Whiskey portfolio.

Basic functions

1. Lead the development of the marketing objectives, strategies and resulting annual brand plan

  • Supports the Marketing Manager with the development of the long-term Super Premium American Whiskey strategy

  • Understands and builds in learning from other departments, such as channel and customer learning

  • Development and execution of the full marketing mix

  • Gives strategic and executional guidance for conjoint Super Premium Trade-Programs

  • Works closely with Trade Marketing and Sales to ensure that the brand marketing objectives and strategies are fully understood

2. Lead the development and excellent execution for consumer related marketing activities

  • Develops and manages the communication & media strategy

  • Exploit global campaign ideas to result in a fully integrated 360° communication with flair and creativity

  • Leads execution of plan. Including but not exclusively: media planning, targeted marketing, PR, consumer events, sponsorship etc.

  • Manages P&L of the responsible brand expressions and manages A&P budget spent

3. ​ Constantly review brand health and performance of activities for ongoing improvement

  • Actively seeking insights into consumer, brand and business insights

  • Provides quarterly business performance and indicated actions


  • Strategic planning, implementation, excellence in execution and evaluation of Super Premium American Whiskey portfolio

  • Internal reports and analysis

  • Building relationships with key internal and external partners

Must Experience:

  • BA or comparable work experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Marketing in an international FMCG company or luxury product company

  • Strong oral & written communication in English, basic in German; good MS Office skills

  • Good German market knowledge (consumer, trade, media)

  • Good knowledge level of marketing disciplines: Market analysis, strategy & marketing mix development incl. communication & media, project management)

  • Business Acumen & entrepreneurial thinking

  • Good analytic and strategic understanding

  • Basic German speaking and writing

Preferred Experience:

  • Sales/FMCG/luxury product understanding, preferably spirits

  • Analytic & research mind set #ND 1
