Meaningful Work From Day One

Support Front Line Leaders & Operations Teams in ensuring that the site complies with Health Safety & Environment legislation and the Brown Forman EHS metrics program . Assist in the delivery of BF & SWA sustainability strategies.

Basic Function: Working closely with the EU EHS Manager delivering the corporate EHS strategy & developing continuous improvement within current EHS practices. This is a 2-year fixed-term contract.

What You Can Expect

  • Ensure that risks are identified using the appropriate risk assessment process and managed so that suitable levels of control & review exist.

  • Ensure all incidents are investigated, recorded and appropriate action taken to prevent recurrence.

  • Participate & deliver relevant EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) training initiatives and present them to appropriate personnel as part of competence assurance programmes.

  • Ensure compliance with EHS legislation by monitoring compliance to key site initiatives in all areas e.g. Working at Height, LOTO, Contractor Management, Permits to Work, Fire Hazard Control and Transport. Report back with recommendations /findings to site leadership, including agreed timescales for action.

  • Analyze and categorize all accident and incident data to communicate EHS KPI’s including leading indicators. Support EHS Manager with accident / incident investigations and ensure all corrective actions are completed in the required timescales.

  • Provide support to department managers & Front line leaders towards the implementation of safety improvements

  • Coaching of site operators & front line leaders, assisting in the updating of risk assessment ,SOP’s & Take a Moments

  • Data Monitoring & Reporting – Gather data and report monthly on EHS KPI performance against local targets

  • Drive engagement of employees through the delivery of EHS Committee

  • Support the implementation of corrective actions arising from internal & external audits

  • Identify, support and project manage Environmental Health and Safety improvements and energy saving projects

  • Utility management and energy analysis

  • Support EHS Manager in building the EU sustainability strategy in line with the overall Brown Forman objectives

What You Bring to the Table

  • NEBOSH General certificate

  • Knowledge of current health and safety/environmental compliance

  • Experience in an EHS related role , preferably within a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communication skills & the ability to influence people

  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement methodologies

  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal skills

What Makes You Unique

  • Experience in use of Continuous Improvement Techniques and analysis

  • Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

  • Member of a recognized professional body - IOSH/IEMA

  • Process Safety experience

  • Knowledge of lock out tag out procedures & machinery safety

  • Knowledge of COMAH/DSEAR regulations

  • Knowledge of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods

  • Formal training qualification
