Brown-Forman Senior International Tax Accountant (Remote Work Location) in Atlanta, Georgia
Meaningful Work From Day One:
As a member of the global tax reporting team, the Senior International Tax Accountant will participate in the quarterly tax provision process with respect to the foreign and US international tax aspects, will be responsible for the preparation of the US international tax compliance for all entities and branches of the company and will support global compliance, transfer pricing documentation and other international tax related assignments under the direction of the International Tax Manager.
What You Can Expect:
Determine and lead information gathering from foreign affiliated companies for the quarterly tax provision process and US tax return preparation process
Review of quarterly foreign tax reporting packages received from BF foreign entities and branches
Review of local foreign statutory statements
Prepare unremitted foreign earnings (APB 23) analysis and calculate basis differences
Prepare and analyze the impact of international tax issues for purposes of the quarterly tax provisions and US tax compliance including determination of Subpart F income, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, calculation of foreign tax credits, foreign currency transactions
Lead the preparation of the US international returns including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865 by utilizing SAP and other data sources
Coordinate and review of the foreign return-to-provision templates
Assist with the review of local statutory financial statements and local country tax returns.
Coordinate tax department oversight of the global tax compliance engagement
Prepare responses to Information Document Requests as part of the federal audit process and provide analysis to support the tax positions on audit
Prepare select US transfer pricing documentation reports and coordinate external provider engagement to prepare other transfer pricing documentation
Prepare or coordinate the Country-by-Country Reporting and monitor foreign notification requirements
Participate in the standardizing processes and workpapers in the US international tax and foreign tax functions
Assist in quantitative modeling of the US international tax and foreign tax impacts of international tax with respect to acquisitions, restructurings and other planning initiatives
Research and respond to day to day issues that arise with respect to US international tax, foreign tax or transfer pricing
Develop skills to become an expert in our tax provision and tax return software
We Are Looking For People Who:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree in tax a plus
CPA
4 to 6 years of Corporate income tax experience; US international tax or transfer pricing experience a plus
Ability to analyze financial statements, general ledger accounts, and prepare accounting workpapers
Ability to research and interpret US international income tax laws and regulations
Some knowledge and experience with accounting for income taxes and requirements of Sarbanes Oxley
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint, Google Suite, Tableau (or similar dashboarding software), Alteryx
Experience in using computer application software, such as OneSource and SAP, necessary to gather tax return data and or prepare tax returns and tax provisions
