Brown-Forman Finance Analyst - Balkans in Bucharest, Romania

This role is to provide financial management support and analytical insight to the Developing Europe Balkans cluster . The Balkans cluster consists of 14 third party distribution markets in the Balkans - Romania, Adria (Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, RN Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia), Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Greece & Cyprus.
This role will act as a second hand to the Balkans Finance Manager on several aspects of financial management of DgE Balkans Cluster; specifically in achievement of profit growth targets focusing in the areas of volume, pricing, profitability, cost management and investment effectiveness among others.
What You Can Expect:
Commercial Support and Analytical Insights, 50%
Under supervision of the Finance Manager and in collaboration with Commercial teams support development of an active Revenue Growth Management (RGM) agenda enabled by:
Consumer Takeaway Reporting and ARM tools (where available) : oversee the country pricing and promotional plans, and advise on ongoing ways of improving pricing and promotional efficiency.
Jedox Value Chain Tool : uncover RGM insights through the tool and drive change working closely with DgE commercial team and local distributor finance teams
Offline Value Chain Tool (where automatic data flow is not available): ensure offline price structures reflect the current market conditions (transfer prices, margins, shelf pricing, taxes, etc.) Uncover RGM insights and drive change working closely with DgE commercial team and local distributor finance teams
Leverage the help of Europe RGM Team as needed
Act as a Champion of RGM in the Balkans, and share learnings with rest of the DgE Finance, Commercial and Marketing Teams
Interact with distributor finance teams under the guidance of Finance Manager, taking part in business reviews with the distributor, understanding the overall business through trade visits.
Support Finance Manager and Area Managers regarding new RTC decision making/ contract renewals, and test different business possibilities leveraging external data sources as needed.
Maintain knowledge of external industry trends, utilizing data sources such IWSR for competitive reviews.
Analyze distributor inventory as it relates to major discrepancies between shipments and depletions in relevant markets (as needed basis).
Financial Management, 25%
Work very closely with the Finance Manager to manage P&L, acting as the second point of contact on finance related issues.
Achieve a deep understanding of cluster markets and give support to the Finance Manager and Commercial Team in areas such as pricing, margin control, new SKU creation, performance evaluation, brand investment opportunities.
Provide monthly P&L analysis and support Finance Manager to provide insights for the cluster; track, analyze and report on discounting, growth bonuses and brand expense to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are informed and remain within budgets/projections.
Participate in and support the Finance Manager on financial aspects of monthly business reviews (MBRs).
Support the Finance Manager to ensure our financial results are accurately reported (proper expense classification within the P&L line items, properly supported accruals, monitoring of receivables, etc.).
Perform quarterly and annual distributor margin reconciliations for the cluster and help as needed distributor bonus reconciliations.
Budget, Projection and Long Term Planning Processes, 15%
Support the rolling forecasting process for the cluster.
Support timely submission for markets consolidation.
Help the Finance Manager for integrity of data, variance analysis and financial evaluation of range forecasts.
Support the development of long-term strategic plans and multi-year investment case proposals.
Support the preparation of presentations, analyses and documents, including White Papers, relating to the Budgets and Projections.
Brand Spend and Control, 10%
Collaborate with Marketing and Accounting teams to oversee the A&P budget management
release of funds according to forecast guidelines
tracking of spend to ensure that the Marketing teams (and/or) distributors are within permitted spend
What You Bring to the Table :
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field with at 1 - 5 years post qualification experience.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently based on logical assumptions and factual information.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects to completion by agreed deadlines.
Experience with computer applications in accounting, budgeting and valuation techniques; in particular advanced PC skills incl. G-Suite, Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiar working with foreign currencies, exchange rates, and conversion factors.
Fluency in English language.
