Brown-Forman Distribution Planner in Guadalajara, Mexico
Accountable for the elaboration of the Logistics Annual Budget for Freight, Security, Warehousing and Returns Services, that will be the Logistics Operations Guideline to manage and control the operations expenses, and as a part of the budget, determine the logistics strategies that might generate savings that can contribute positively to the brands’ profit and COGS.
Participate as a member of the Sales & Operation Planning team and work in collaboration with Logistics, Commercial Finance, Supply Chain, Production Operations, Marketing and Sales to support the Supply Chain management process. Participate in the Consensus Forecast Planning with Sales Forecasting and Demand Planning in order to get all the teams working towards the same commercial target.
Close Communication with Demand, Production and Supply Planning to translate the Consensus Forecast into a Master Production Schedule for the manufacturing plant, for all the brands of the portfolio and new products.
Inventory levels Management in Brown Forman Mexico Distribution Network. Analyze and report the Logistics KPIs including Distribution Cost, inventory levels and customer service performance.
Create the distribution expense annual budget (freight, security, warehousing and returns) and monthly analysis of results to make recommendations in order to generate savings that can minimize the distribution cost.
Participate in S&OP process and executive meetings to guarantee stock availability and reporting inventory levels, re-defining inventory planning parameters, resolving inventory exceptions and supply constraints, follow up and align the efforts to the company’s strategies and translate the decisions making and operational changes into an outstanding Fill Rate performance and Distribution Cost impact.
Manage, facilitate and coordinate inventory levels and replenishment through BF Mexico’s distribution network using APO and SAP R3. Collaborate with Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Sales Forecasting Planning to define inventory levels for each Distribution Center by SKU, according to the Inventory Policies and company’s strategies by season, location and customer.
Meet the Production, Demand and Supply Planners as well as imports team in weekly and bi-weekly basis to define production and supply schedules according to the inventory levels required.
Create the weekly distribution plan from the Distillery, bonded warehouses and co-packers to the Distribution Network according to the inventory requirements while reducing freight and warehousing cost by optimizing transportation lanes.
Collaborate with the VAPS committee to distribute and deplete the inventories according to the customer’s allocations.
Contribute to maintain orders fill rate and forecast accuracy by distribution center above target.
Report logistics KPI ́s and communicate results to management (Distribution Cost, Fill Rate, Perfect Order Metric, Order Cycle Time, Inventory levels).
Led SMOGS process (Slow Movement and Obsolete Goods). Measure and report inventory balances, aged and un-saleable, obsolete and/or de-listed inventories to reduce cases and value.
Submit a Warning Monthly Report of RTD´s close to the “Best Before Date” consumption.
Update, collaborate and share best practices, processes and procedures with Logistics and Supply Chain Team.
BS Degree in Industrial Engineer, International Business, Business Administration, Finance or similar profile.
3-4 years of experience in similar positions.
Experience working with Commercial Teams, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Finance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
English fluency, written and spoken.
Experience with APO and SAP R3 environments
Ability to understand and apply standard analytical concepts and inventory planning methodology.
Understand inventory planning processes and how inventory planning supports the organization’s strategies.
Problem solving skills and heavy emphasis placed on the ability to diagnose and solve problems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Diverse logistics background (Production Planning / Inventory Planning / Operations Management / Distribution Planning)
Ability to perform and adapt in a rapidly changing environment as necessary.
Team work, including remote collaboration.
