Brown-Forman Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator in Guadalajara, Mexico

This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of environmental, health and safety programs to ensure a best-in-class level of health and safety for all employees. Monitors environmental, health and safety regulations and provides technical support to HR, Legal, Security and Operations Managers to ensure compliance with internal standards as well as Federal, State and Local regulations.

Responsibility:

Ensure adherence to all relevant legal standards, rules and regulations. Educate and oversee employees on health and safety procedures and regulations. Monitor personnel and workspace conditions. Always ensure the company is prepared to submit all the relevant health and safety documents. Encourage and promote the use of safer work equipment, materials and supplies. Track the number of incidents and produce reports. Monitor exposure to certain hazardous substances or materials. Report to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and other relevant organizations like IMSS, SSP, STPS, etc. Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices. Collaborate and build long-term relationships with vendors, contractors, authorities and consultants. Evaluate facilities in different cities. Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for potential injuries by job task. Develop evaluation tools for vehicle drivers and assess risks detected to prevent traffic accidents. Develop and manage regulatory training for fire, first aid, ergonomic and emergency teams. Develop, improve and implement training for employees, vendors and outsourced staff. It includes new hired safety training as well as annual refresher trainings for all employees and permanent third parties on a variety of safety and environmental topics. Maintain contractor safety program including the qualification process, orientation, and safety compliance. Control training certificates DC3 for high risk jobs. Write environmental, health and safety internal standards and policies. Conduct safety, health and environmental inspections and on the job coaching with sales team members. Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, accidents and near misses. Provide corrective actions and lessons learned at the site and corporate level Guarantee C-TPAT compliance related to emergency systems operation in offices and warehouses where BF stores products or has implant employees.

Must Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s in environmental health or similar relevant field

Other certifications related to this field: Red Cross, Labor secretary, OSHA, IMSS, etc.

Experience:

Previous working experience as Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator for (3) years or more.

EHS previous experience working in offices and warehouses.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety and/or Environmental regulations. Hands-on experience with performing audits, writing reports and assess risk to mitigate effects. Organizational time-management skills. Effective communication skills. Team work. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.
