Brown-Forman Brand Manager- India in Gurgaon, India

The person in this role with be the steward/custodian of iconic and world’s most valuable spirits brand in the world - Jack Daniel’s. She/He will champion brand and business growth for Jack Daniel’s Portfolio in India Area. The person in this role will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of brand strategies and portfolio development of the Jack Daniel’s trademark to ensure long term profitable growth. This person leads, authors/develops, and executes brand plans for the portfolio in India Area.

The role requires close collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, including the regional and global brand teams, sales teams, legal & compliance, supply chain, agencies (BTL/media/research) and other service providers.

What You Can Expect

Brands Strategy and Planning

  • Own the Jack Daniel’s Portfolio - from strategic planning through to execution and delivery of portfolio growth

  • Lead Strategic Brand Plan development in close association with Marketing Manager

  • Develop a close working relationship with global brand teams to align brand plans, long-term strategic direction and collaborate on building the required assets for the market

  • Scope new product and portfolio diversification opportunities - size of prize, consumer trends/ rationale and business cases

Brand Execution and Analysis

  • Develop and lead go to market campaigns & initiatives including but not limited to ATL, field experiential marketing / event activation activities, brand advocacy etc.

  • Partner closely with Distributor, Commercial Teams, Brand Advocacy Manager and Trade Marketing Manager for effective channel & customer programs across Off Premise, On Premise and E-Commerce

  • Partner closely with region insights team to track and measure key brand and business metrics and lead all local India Area insights/research projects

  • Partner closely with IMC Specialist for effective communication/media plan and its implementation

  • Multiple agency and external supplier management - briefing, timelines, budget scope and appraisals

  • Work with all levels of field sales staff to ensure that marketing plans and tactics are appropriate for field based brand building activities

Financial Management & Brand Health Reporting

  • Analysis on the range of financial metrics including brand expenses, volumetric and fiscal reporting and future projection forecasting

  • Manage assigned brands P&L’s (including A&P planning, tracking and reporting)

  • Owns the business/brand health analytics and reporting including market share analysis, campaigns effectiveness measurement etc.

Capability & Culture Building

  • Be the voice of consumer internally with a strong consumer focus and insight led planning

  • Be an advocate and ambassador for brand knowledge and best in class adoption

  • Play active role with Distributor Partners - particularly in the education, need for excellence in execution and portfolio performance review with Distributor Partners, Field Sales staff and Commercial Teams

What Exactly Are We Looking For?

Required Experience & Education:

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Marketing, Communication or similar discipline

Experience: Total 4 - 6 years of experience in successfully managing a consumer brand

Preferred Experience & Education:

Education: Masters Degree (M.A., MBA or Equivalent)

Experience: Previous experience in a premium consumer product company (beverages and spirits sector being an advantage), or similar position being fully responsible for an assigned portfolio

1-2 years of experience in either sales/customer/trade marketing
