Brown-Forman Supply Chain Manager - India Area in Gurgaon, India

Job Description:


This position will provide ongoing professional Customer Service and Credit support to the assigned importers, distributors, and Travel Retail operators within the India Area (Defined as India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Maldives). The role will require liaising with the corporate customer service and supply chain team members and executing processes that ensure customer orders and request are met and credit issues are resolved. Organizing, accurately updating, and maintaining comprehensive data bases is critical. Additionally, this position also manages the overall administration efforts within the India head office. The incumbent will communicate and partner with the two India Regional Sales Managers, Head of Finance, Head of Marketing , and Country Director, India, to provide ongoing operational support to meet business needs.

Basic Function:

Supply Chain:

  • Facilitate & ensure the sales forecasting process is fully operational (S&OP) with the cross functional team

  • Review Regional warehouse stockholding and forecasting and replenishment of stock on a regular basis

  • Establish norms for distributor inventory holding basis, regional nuances and provide a quarterly sales forecast accuracy report for full analysis & decision making

  • Management of all customer orders for India Area—receive, check quantity and pricing and process all orders from customers (issue pro-forma invoices, credit notes and final invoices) and evaluate and manage specific orders as required

  • Serve as first point of contact for customers to address requests, queries, discrepancies, and complaints in a timely and efficient manner

  • Facilitate communication between Louisville Customer Service and customers

  • Monitor, communicate, and resolve possible discrepancies in delivery of goods to customers and process order corrections

  • Communicate frequently and cooperate with local commercial team to provide and exchange information on customers, maintain proper documentation, address out-of-stocks, and take an active part in identifying and rectifying problems linked to deliveries

  • Responsible for master data for customers, including adding new customers deleting terminations and updating / processing changes

  • Ensure consistency in collecting inventory data from customers

  • Proactively work with distributors and B-F colleagues to anticipate and avoid OOS situations

  • Responsible for monthly depletion data process


  • Act as interface to Credit and customers to ensure proper credit control and ensure timely payments by customers

  • Responsible for master data for customers, including adding new customers deleting terminations and updating / processing changes

  • Maintain an overview of and regularly review customers’ credit limit; work with corporate customer credit service personnel to establish credit terms and limits to ensure maximum sales and minimum losses

  • Regularly review assigned customer accounts and contact them if balances past due

  • Work with Head of Finance to analyze deductions based on agreed off-invoice discounts and retro rebate deductions

  • Establish new customers in system following financial / commercial evaluation from corporate office

Must Requirements:

  • University Degree in business, finance, or related area

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate function such as supply chain, Credit, Customer Service or Accounting

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Supply chain / logistics

  • Superior communication skills

  • Fluency: English (speaking and writing)

  • Fluency: Hindi (required) and other local Indian/ South Asian languages (preferred)

  • Strong skills within MS Office suite, especially Excel

  • Project management
