The Jack Daniel´s brand is commercially the most important for Brown-Forman globally as well as at the local market level. Within the Jack Daniel’s brands, the PMLD assortment is the fastest growing category (both, compared to market and within the German BF portfolio). Excellence and cutting edge marketing expertise is required in all disciplines and by all its team members to sustain and further build the brand equity. This position supports the Senior Brand Manager in developing and executing the marketing mix for our Jack Daniel’s PMLD portfolio. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with brand and functional team members in order to achieve most effective long-term franchise and brand equity building and to contribute to the profitable growth development of Jack Daniel’s.
What You Can Expect?
The role encompasses the responsibility for the full local marketing mix development of Jack Daniel’s PMLDs with support of the Senior Brand Manager (SBM) Jack Daniel’s PMLD Germany. Key tasks in this role encompass:
Contribute to the development of the marketing objectives, strategies and resulting annual brand plan
Uncover root issues and opportunities (at brand and category level) via leading brand and category audits with support of Trade Marketing and Market, Category & Consumer Insights (MCCI) (incl. financials, market, consumer, equity, review of previous strategies, ROI of previous initiatives and external/competitive reviews).
Understand and build in learning from other departments, such as channel and customer learning
Support the Senior Brand Manager to develop crisp (clear, results orientated, insightful, strategically aligned and prioritized) objectives and strategies
Work closely together with Trade Marketing and MCCI to ensure that the brand marketing objectives and strategies are fully understood and the right tools are being developed to answer the objectives
Develop and gain agreement on marketing activity schedules cascading from the strategies together with the SBM
Support the SBM in the annual A&P budget planning and tracking
Support in influencing key stakeholders at local, European and global level to ensure that German needs are being taken into account in the European and Global development.
Contribute to the development and implementation of excellent, consumer-centric marketing activities - on time, in full - with support of the Senior Brand Manager Jack Daniel’s PMLD
Develop cost effective annual activity plans closely with the SBM to execute the strategies and objectives agreed
Develop and manage the communications & media strategy in close collaboration with the SBM
Support and lead execution of the marketing activity plan in alignment with the SBM to ensure excellence in delivery. Including but not exclusively: digital marketing, Social Media, ATL, PR, consumer events, sponsorship etc.
Brief and lead external agencies on dedicated projects as part of marketing activity plan execution
Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful execution of annual marketing plans and constantly review and evaluate the success of marketing activities
Closely work together with Trade Marketing to increase awareness and generate trial at all touchpoints
Constantly review brand health and performance of activities for continuous improvement
Actively seek for consumer, brand and business insights in order to build knowledge and to evolve the brand
Provide the business with a monthly point of view of business performance and indicated actions, incl. market development & competitive activity, market share and growth trends, key initiatives, and return on marketing investment.
Cooperate closely with colleagues at local, European and global level across functions and work levels
Closely work together with market research to generate consumer, brand and business insights
Cooperate closely with the Senior Brand Manager to ensure alignment
Cooperate closely with Trade Marketing to ensure that the brand and activity plans are aligned
Cooperate together with Accounting, Controlling, Purchasing and Supply Chain at local level in all relevant aspects
Cooperate and provide local German insights to influence European and global key stakeholders (Marketing, MCCI, legal) and share best practice across markets
Exchange and cooperate with other colleagues from Brand Marketing to ensure alignment across the portfolio
What You Bring to the Table?
University degree (Bachelor or equivalent)
Experience in Marketing in an international FMCG company (preferably food & beverages)
Fluent in German and English
Basic German market knowledge (consumer, trade, media)
Good knowledge level of marketing disciplines: Market analysis, strategy & marketing mix development incl. communication & media, project management
Advanced skills in MS Office and corresponding Google applications
Business acumen & entrepreneurial thinking
Good mixture of analytic/strategic understanding and creative out of the box thinking
Sales/FMCG understanding, preferably food & beverages
