Meaningful Work From Day One
This position is responsible for delivering insights about the different channels (on-trade, off-trade and e-commerce) and of market & category trends, developing tools & reports in close co-operation with marketing & sales teams. It furthermore includes leading the monthly Sales & Business Planning Process. The owner of this role proactively collaborates with the European and global BBI community and acts as an interface between Brand Management, Trade Marketing, Sales and Finance, providing insights about channels and performance of the BF brands as well as identifying additional areas for growth within existing and new customers. The Senior MCIM plays a key role in Brown-Forman’s objective to build a reputation as an entrepreneurially spirited company, dedicated to achieving sustainable long-term growth that acts as a trusted partner. This position will be responsible for a Channel Analyst.
What You Can Expect?
The role encompasses the responsibility for the full local market, category and channel assessment and insights generation as well as building and evolving a Category, Shopper and Channel Insights Knowledge Centre.
Market & Category understanding:
Responsible for continuous market data such as retail scanner data e.g Nielsenand information about on-trade and ecommerce and managing the data providers
Responsible for building insightful channel reports and enforcing their automation.
Lead the analysis of market & category trends of spirits categories, our brands and the B-F competition in the specific channels and customers to identify issues & opportunities for growth
Drive channel capabilities including category management knowhow within the organization, especially within the key account management
Support annual brand planning by providing Brand Teams and Sales with relevant input and recommendation for action
Create and develop reports based on available market data
Lead of Sales & Business Planning Process (S&BP)
Lead the overall Sales & Business Planning Process for B-F Germany
Align input information and discussion to a common understanding and follow up actions
Summarize the key outcome and report it to the German Leadership Team
Responsible for the market & category insights analysis as input into the S&BP process
Regularly review the process to ensure continued optimization
Significantly contribute to the development of the annual negotiation material for sales teams
Proactively provide key information and data on market, category & channels to spot areas for growth in the B-F customers
Throughout the year, develop sell-in stories for key accounts in collaboration with Trade Marketing
Ensure frequent promotion evaluations and derives optimization recommendations
Explore potentials in less exploited channels through data analyses and researches
Support of key account management in key strategic customer visits
Lead, coach and develop a Channel Insights Analyst
proactive stakeholder management within the local market as well as in the European and global BBI and Commercial community
What You Bring to the Table?
University degree in Marketing, Sales or Business related field or comparable work experience
Experience with Category Management and/or market research in consumer goods (preference beverages)
Fluent in German and English
Excellent analytical and quantitative research skills and understanding of / exposure to qualitative research
Proficient Google, Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills and relevant database and business warehouse programs
Good German market knowledge (retail, consumer, trade)
Holistic business acumen & entrepreneurial thinking
Excellent analytic and strategic understanding
Experience with retail and household panel
Leading one direct report or experience in leading without direct reporting line
