Brown-Forman Senior Manager External Manufacturing Operations - Eastern Europe in Helsinki, Finland

What You Will Do in This Role:

Direct, lead, and manage production operations in Eastern Europe including all co-packing operations in Finland and Latvia. Implement strategic business objectives into operational plans for the East Europe team. Responsible for meeting performance metrics in quality, customer service, environmental compliance, and cost containment. Serve as Managing Director of Brown-Forman Finland legal entity and oversees financial reporting, statutory reporting, and local legal requirements related to the entity. Serve as Chairman for BF Latvia entity. Lead a staff of 20 in two countries.

Working in partnership with the Director, External Manufacturing Operations - Europe and Americas, develop and lead the implementation of short and long-range manufacturing operating plans to meet current and future business plans. Lead and provide overall operational direction and consistency to enhance productivity, quality, and customer service. Is a key partner and collaborator with internal resources. Directly manage the relationship with co-packing partners. Lead the development of new co-packers and the introduction of new products and packages produced in the region. Provide leadership, influence, and expertise to formulate a shared vision. Clearly communicate the vision and obtain commitment to goals and action plans.

Who We Are:

Brown Forman Finland (BFF) was founded November 2013 when Finlandia Vodka Worldwide sold its assets to newly established Finnish jurisdiction. BFF is part of American Brown-Forman Corporation and the company’s seat is in Finland. BFF owns Finland Vodka tradename and as part of B-F group develops the Finlandia Vodka trademark and oversees operations & projects related to the Finlandia production process. BFF deliveries and controls the order and delivery process. BFF manages plants in Finland, Latvia and Estonia via third party co-packing and logistic partners. In Finland payroll there are teams from region, brand, finance and production; meaning that BFF has sales, marketing, brand and product development and external manufacturing activities in its books. Brown-Forman is responsible for the worldwide sales and marketing of Finlandia Vodka.

What You Will Experience:

35% Leadership General Management & Operational Planning:

· Provide leadership and vision to the EEMO organization by collaborating with staff and partners in the development of long-range operational plans to meet strategic requirements, supporting the annual production plan (including NPD), budget process, and monthly reporting of KPIs.

· Direct supply chain, customer service, quality, finance, vendor management, production scheduling, purchasing plans, production capacity assessments, process development and improvement, and costing for region.

· Manage and lead the relationship with the region’s Co-packers and strategic suppliers.

· Responsible for all local legal requirements related to the Finnish legal entity. Act as the primary liaison for local government and regulatory authorities for the day-to-day operation of the business entity.

· Lead prospecting process and the development of new co-packers or facilities in the region.

· Ensure B-F’s risk management requirements are met at BF sites and Co-packers.

35% Operational Leadership:

· Primary liaison and overall manager of the supplier relationship with Altia Corporation relating to all facets of the supply chain through product shipment. Interface with Altia on all issues related to the production of Finlandia Vodka.

· Direct Riga warehouse operations related to stickering, strip stamping, value added packaging, and order fulfillment of B-F Products for entry into Russia and the CIS markets.

· Ensure compliance with BF quality standards, systems, and policies at co-packing facilities, including plant sanitation, GMP programs, and quality record keeping.

· Ensure Co-packer compliance to European environmental requirements and related BF programs.

20% Financial Management:

· Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to meet or exceed cost/budget targets. Actively generate, facilitate, and pursue cost saving opportunities.

· Primary local resource for B-F to manage the cost of goods with Altia.

· Direct the financial activities associated with BFF’s legal, tax, and statutory requirements.

· Direct and coordinate EEMO’s budget activities, maximize return on investments, and increase efficiency.

· Negotiate, analyze, and approve Co-packer fees; including annual price adjustments where applied.

· Develop and provide recommendations regarding capital investments.

10% Coach & Develop People:

· Provide coaching to direct reports for personal development and growth. Resolve performance issues through coaching and/or coordination with HR for training and development. Lead the performance management process.

· Lead and manage employee development and training.

· Foster positive employee relations and morale internally and with our production partners.

· Oversee compliance to local employment regulations.

What You Bring to the Table:

· University Degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, food science, or related with at least 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership or general management.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate people and manage complex projects; ability to multi-task and work with results focus.

· Excellent collaborator and relationship builder; internal and external.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent planning, financial, root cause analysis and conceptual skills.

· Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

· Has a demonstrated passion for the core values of Brown-Forman.

· Fluent in English and Finnish and familiar with Finnish culture

· Preferable general management experience within the FMCG industry or luxury products
