Brown-Forman SAP Master Data/Supply Chain Analyst in Indianapolis, Indiana

Meaningful Work From Day One Manage the process of product additions and revisions to maintain the information integrity required in support of efficient and reliable manufacturing operations at multiple external manufacturing sites. Leverage the functionality of the SAP system by integrating manufacturing procedures and processes to optimize current and future production capabilities. Act as liaison between various functional groups to assure SAP integrity is maintained and to assure accurate standard costs are easily accessible. Perform entry transactions of purchased material receipts and production of finished goods. Audit all entries for variances to standard costs and report to EMO Controller.

We are open to candidates working remotely within driving distance to our HQ in Louisville, KY, in order to come to the office a few times a month.

Also note, the role is titled "Product Engineer" internally.

What You Can Expect

Integrate information from sales, marketing, design, purchasing, customer service, distribution services, cost accounting and external manufacturing personnel to facilitate transition from product concept to manufacturing execution. Translate manufacturing requirements from all functional areas into processes in the SAP system. Establish realistic timeframes and tolerances for production additions and changes by defining required system functionality prior to production. Define standard and acceptable production information requirements. Establish procedures for production activity reporting. Provide direction to EMO locations for reporting of these activities. Responsible for identification and write-off of obsolete material inventories within the SAP system. Specific Roles & Responsibilities Manage SAP activities associated with product additions and revisions at multiple external manufacturing locations in the US. Translate manufacturing requirements from functional areas into processes in the SAP system. Create and maintain material masters, bills of materials, and product master recipes for semi-finished and finished goods, where applicable. Ensure data is set up based on requirements of each production location including units of measure and conversion of units to alternate measures for purchasing and consumption in BOMs. Protect data integrity of products through adherence to system and procedural controls. Ensure master data supports compliance with TTB regulations. Enter receipts of raw materials (used in production) and the production of finished cases as reported by multiple EMO co-packing facilities, within established timelines. When necessary, investigate and determine corrective action required ensuring accuracy of data entry. Audit entries to validate accuracy of inventories and related values, proper relief of raw materials, and cost accounting. Post in SAP all MBSOs for unpacked gift components and samples to relieve inventory at our U.S. co-packing facilities. Ensure that materials ordered align with actual shipments and that proper accounting methods are used. Post monthly inventory adjustments in SAP for raw materials and finished goods ensuring that entries are accurately posted and follow proper accounting procedures. Update material master data for raw, semi- and finished good materials in preparation of annual cost roll. Ensure data is accurately set to avoid costing errors in all plants where material has been extended. Create process documentation for training and ongoing support. Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in quality and continuous improvement. Assist EMO Assistant Controller/Production Direction with annual physical inventory process and reconciliation. Post year-end inventory adjustments using proper accounting procedures. Act as back-up for other BF Product Engineers.

We Are Looking For People Who

Have a Bachelor's Degree AND 5+years inventory, materials, master data or accounting related experience in a manufacturing environment OR 10 years inventory/materials experience working in a manufacturing environment with systems expertise in SAP.

  • Materials Management experience in SAP

  • Demonstrated ability to complete project work within budget and time and constraints.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within BF and at external manufacturing locations.

  • Strong knowledge of Google Applications or equivalent i.e. Microsoft Office including the ability to understand the process flow and implications of system changes.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex business processes

  • Ability to write clear and definitive procedures

What You Can Add To The Team

Experience: Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environment including knowledge of requirements for materials handling, processing, and shipping of packaged consumer goods. SAP Product Engineer “super user” level access and training. Project management/problem solving skills.
