Meaningful Work From Day One

Serving as a business partner with the corporation and the Turkish business unit, this individual is responsible for managing, facilitating, and coordinating financial accounting, reporting, and analytical activities with a focus on communicating quantitative and qualitative information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner. This position is a critical player in the accounting organization, being responsible for the proper filing of all financial results for internal reporting as well as external reporting. Aside from all statutory tasks and the related responsibility this position is overseeing a group of people such as a Procure-to-Pay Analyst, CCCA Analyst (Credit, Cash Apps, and A/R) who have dual reporting to their respective GBS functional managers, as well as a Senior Accountant. This position is taking care of the tasks below and in addition responsible for setting up and optimizing the whole accounting process in Turkiye.

What You Can Expect

Manage financial accounting, reporting & analysis activities associated with the business unit. The Accounting Manager leads a team of two accountants responsible for all local OTC and PTP-related transactions as well as supervising a G/L Senior accountant. This position furthermore includes monthly, quarterly, and annual year-end accounting and closing activities, as well as all relevant ledger activities such as:

Financial Records

  • Responsible for ensuring timely accuracy of all financial records, including financial statements and general ledger data.

  • Serves as a business partner to the respective operating units. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including month-end closing, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and financial forecasting activities

  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and the timely reporting of all monthly financial information

  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy to enhance the workflow of the department.

  • Preparation of statutory monthly filings and participation in annual audits & also prepares the Income tax reporting package (US GAAP)

  • All AP (PTP) and AR (OTC) relevant transactions have to be compliant not just with GAAP but also with Turkish income tax legislation (taxable benefits).

  • Coordination between external payroll provider/HR and BF accounting department to ensure proper accounting following Turkish GAAP

  • Cash reconciliations and management of the cash process with Head Office Treasury dept, support Head Office Treasury dep for decision making and ensure the cash flow for operational needs.

  • Intercompany billing and accounting in cooperation with the accounting department in the corporate office

Financial Controllership

  • Identify and coordinate procedures, reports, timing requirements, and other financial activity to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records as well as compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax, and legal entity structures. This includes coordinating with external parties and intercompany accounting.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place and compliance with corporate financial policies. Provide and implement recommendations for improvements to internal controls and policies.

  • Special projects that require a high level of accounting knowledge on a case-to-case basis.

  • Controls quarterly reconciliations and analysis of corporate balance sheet accounts.

  • Responds to inquiries from the Finance Director, Accounting Controller Group, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and the like.

  • Ensure that all general entries comply with financial corporate policies and procedures with the collaboration of the general accountant and the business employees comply with said policies and procedures (e.g.: COUPA, CONCUR, Purchasing Policy, etc).

Financial Reporting

  • Supporting the Accounting Team and Finance team on Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, P&L and expense Reporting both in Turkish GAAP

Tax and Compliance

  • Review current tax regulations and tax incentives

  • Provide and implement recommendations to LT on current regulations

  • Support Regional Legal Counsel on compliance matters.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrable accounting/finance experience

  • A proven desire to improve processes and adapt well to an ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

  • A demonstrated proficiency and understanding of US GAAP + Turkish GAAP and the ability to prepare financial statements and analyses.

  • Well-experienced leadership skills, actively coaching teams of 3 or more people, for three or more years

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Turkish .Proven oral and written communication skills with the ability to discuss business issues and translate them into financial implications and action plans.

  • Strong financial and analytical abilities with the ability to collect, analyze, and present results in a concise format.

  • Working knowledge of the SAP environment (FI/CO/MM/BW).

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel.
