This exciting role of Excise Tax Manager based in London has the responsibility of managing all operational and compliance related activities linked to the sale and distribution of Brown-Forman’s products to customers based in the UK. They will be responsible for ensuring all importation, warehousing, selling, shipping and repacking activities comply to UK excise tax regulations, acting as a champion of continuous improvement.
Lead and direct the Finance and Supply Chain functions regarding Excise Tax compliance, establishing plans and budgets for the departments.
Build strong relationships and maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders including employees, HMRC and industry organisations
Ensure compliance with Brown-Forman quality policies, standards and systems including plant sanitation.
Manage HMRC compliance and due diligence for all cased goods pertaining to sale of Brown-Forman brands in the UK
Participates in risk reviews for all areas of finished goods, gift pack and repack performed internally in the 3PL warehouse or elsewhere
Oversee compliance with HMRC regarding audits, reporting of loss of goods/warehousing issues and stock issues
Other ad-hoc duties may also be required to help support the local supply chain and finance teams.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a related area, have extensive experience in Excise Tax Compliance, Customer Service Management or Logistics Management and knowledge of HMRC requirements for the spirits industry. Previous experience in SAP and a professioanl tax or accounting qualification are preferable.
