Meaningful Work From Day One

This role is first and foremost a sales role integral to the off-trade sales function of B-F, driving performance in one of B-F UK’s major retail partners. The key responsibility as a team member is to support the achievement of sales volume, gross profit, distribution, and promotional objectives assigned to the channel & Customer. Supporting the NAM, you will help to generate a take away and sell-in forecast by SKU / store in collaboration with your relevant customers, allowing BF-UK to achieve an optimal level of inventory and service. Identify and take advantage of opportunities that help the company achieve its distribution, exhibition and sales objectives.

You will work across and establish effective and trusted business partnerships with the relevant customer contacts, as well as key internal stakeholders and functions.

This role is hugely dynamic and of significant importance within the business. With that comes great internal and external visibility and the opportunity to positively impact business performance.

What You Can Expect

Build Strong Relationships

  • Build strong internal relationships across Brown-Forman. Working with the brand teams, category insights, finance, trade marketing, sales operations and especially supply chain teams, among others to effectively deliver growth and business development on your account

  • Develop a strong relationship with the customer(s) and understand what drives their decision making process. Analyze the data and provide facts that motivate them to purchase, promote and ensure visibility for our brands.

  • Take time to learn about the business and spend time in store, providing insight that the customer will value

  • Work to create incremental mutual value within business partnerships

Business Development

  • Support NAMs on defining optimal inventory levels

  • Consolidate customer(s) information to help other departments (finance, sales operations, trade marketing, brands) evaluate commercial initiatives.

  • Maximize new business development opportunities;

  • Inventory analysis - act in a timely manner to avoid shortages/ stock outs and excess inventory.

  • Check, download and manage information from customers and generate reports that will allow timely decision-making.

  • Measure key supply indicators: OTIF (on time in full), days cover, lost sales.

  • Work in conjunction with supply chain and demand planning to maintain / improve supply indicators.

  • Work in collaboration with Trade Marketing to measure and maintain optimal execution of activities at the POS.

  • Participate in the reviews of the indicators, forecast and internal and customer planning parameters.

Commercial & Strategic Planning

  • Support the National Account Manager & Senior Account Manager to develop the account plan including volume, promotional activity, visibility, logistics and financial information along with KPIs for measuring results

  • Work with the RGM & Marketing teams to support the development of optimal promotional plans

  • Work closely with Finance to manage annual budgets

Sales Administration

  • Activate and evaluate brand activations within set timings and budgets

  • Review territory sales reports to highlight areas of opportunity and concern

  • Analyse data - extract commercial and consumer insights to develop new strategies

  • General internal account maintenance

  • Stock management & availability at all times

  • Follow up billing, A/P and invoicing issues and use internal resources to solve and communicate them

  • Work with Supply to guarantee product availability

We Are Looking For People Who Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related area

  • Previous experience in Sales position

  • Sales experience within the wholesale and/or retail environment, ability to quickly deduce customer and channel needs as well as the ability to unlock insights from data and use them to drive growth with our trade partners

  • Experience in customer negotiation and sound knowledge of UK retail environment

  • Strong Business Acumen, P&L experience
