Meaningful Work From Day One

Since our acquisition of Fords Gin in 2019 and of Gin Mare in late 2022, Brown-Forman is becoming a major player in the super premium gin category. We recognise the importance that advocacy plays in successful brand building and this exciting role within the marketing team will accelerate Brown-Forman UK’s business and brand goals by leading the development, training and activation of the brand advocacy programme for both Gin Mare and Fords Gin in the UK.

The brand ambassador will establish effective and trusted business partnerships with Brown-Forman’s key customers as well as a variety of internal stakeholders including, the Global Brand Director - Gins and Fords Gin Founder, Simon Ford, plus the UK brand teams, customer marketing and sales teams to influence point of service, brand recommendation to drive consistent and exceptional presence of our iconic brands.

The brand ambassador will be pivotal in enabling Brown-Forman to maintain momentum and build our Gin Mare and Fords Gin to new heights. Advocacy is a key driver of success and we’re focused on engaging and winning the hearts and minds of high-profile trade influencers in the restaurant and bar industry as well as strengthening these relationships through inspiration and engagement.

What You Will Do in This Role

Value Creation

  • Strengthen the position of Gin Mare and Fords Gin within the trade and across the UK

  • Assist in the creation of trade strategies

  • Develop scalable immersive experiences with special focus on prestige accounts

  • Champion trend and innovation into best practice

  • Explore and identify new accounts and convert bartenders who are not yet supporters of our gins

  • Prepare competitive assessments

Strategic Relationships and Partnerships

  • Cultivate relationships with key trade leaders, influential bars and bartenders to increase opportunities for the sales teams

  • Work closely with both local and global brand teams, customer marketing and sales to formulate and implement brand and communication plans

  • Visit top venues & customers as required by the on & off-trade teams to help improve brand presence & prominence

  • Lead visits to Thames Distillery according to Fords Gin strategy & plan

  • Host dinners and support the Global Brand Ambassador on homeplace trips

Drive for Results

  • Work with on-trade, off-trade, marketing and customer marketing teams as needed to develop drink serves, training and deliver growth for our gins

  • Host/Run tastings internally and externally, delivering immersive brand experiences

  • Upskill our internal teams and support onboarding of new employees with education needs

  • Serve as brand spokesperson at key brand and cocktail events in the UK, including occasional media appearances

  • Sales support for customer business meetings, inspiration days (on & off-trade)

  • Run bar, trade shows & selected events

  • Support brand events & initiatives (social media)

  • Manage training & experience calendar

  • Comply with all sales processes and tools

  • Monitor and comply with administrative team activities

  • Effective planning and control of the company's budget and resources

Lead & Inspire

  • Lead a diverse and inclusive culture where different perspectives are encouraged and individuals feel connected and valued

  • Be a champion for Brown-Forman’s “be better do better” approach to D&I and make D&I an everyday consideration across all initiatives.

  • Identify multi-cultural insights that inform diverse marketing strategies & influencer campaigns across different influencer groups

  • Work to minimise environmental impact and implement sustainable best practices for brand materials, events and activations

What You Bring To The Table

  • Previous experience working as a cocktail bartender

  • Previous experience in advocacy or similar position

  • Professional knowledge of the UK On-Trade

  • A strong network within the UK influential hospitality arena (Bars, Hotels & Restaurants)

Skills Required

  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

  • Compelling storytelling skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to translate information in a clear, concise and visually appealing way

  • Great analytical skills; commercially savvy and solutions-orientated

  • Self-starter with proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects to completion by specific deadlines

  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels with strong stakeholder awareness

  • Collaborative team player, with conflict management skills

  • Adaptable, flexible and resilient

  • IT literate - MS Office applications & Google applications

  • Social Media savvy (Instagram)

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Previous experience working with luxury or super premium brands

  • Knowledge of the off-trade/ Top 4 retailers

  • Strong Business Acumen
