Brown-Forman 2nd Shift Plant Production Leader - Finished Goods in Louisville, Kentucky

Meaningful Work From Day One Responsible for safety, morale, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost of assigned team within the Brown-Forman Distillery Operations Team. Leads team members to achieve performance targets through the effective communication of job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Schedules daily and weekly production activities and assigns duties and responsibilities for team members. Establishes and executes training plans to ensure the team's success. Responsible for controlling labor costs to productivity targets and budget. Responsible for understanding the current Collective Bargaining Agreement and managing to its guidelines.

2nd Shift Hours 3:30 P.M. - 12:00 A.M.

What You Can Expect

Responsible for generating daily tasks for all dock operations. Monitor and coach production operations to achieve targeted standards and record downtime for all equipment in assigned area. Investigate equipment and system failures and provide trouble-shooting guidance to operators on production equipment. Support maintenance organization by utilizing work order processes, preventive maintenance program, and equipment downtime tracking. Develop, implement, and evaluate job specific skills training for each individual employee within work team. Has the ability to understand/interpret results as it relates to business impact; has the ability to interpret/understand raw material & finished quality inspection. Works closely with yard driver for daily movement of equipment to accommodate production and delivery operations. Requires cross functional partnership and collaboration with multiple departments i.e., Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Shipping, Finance etc. Create weekly job assignments/Schedule while leveraging training matrix to improve individual developments and opportunities.

Safety/Environmental

Maintain a safe work environment and promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards. Understand and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. Provides a work environment that complies with all safety and regulatory requirements in relationship to employee’s contractors, products, and customers. Manages environmental and safety issues ethically. Requires partnership with Plant Safety Coordinator, Safety Working Action Team, Corporate Safety leaders, employees, and Environmental departments.

Quality

Manage quality of raw materials and finished goods per quality assurance standards. Manage operational performance and area sanitation to meet or exceed plant KPIs.

Continuous Improvement

Support team in operational problem resolutions, continuous improvement, and standardizing production processes. Engage in TPM training and integration into the operation to support ongoing efforts to improve OEE. Explores innovation in terms of technology, people, processes, and systems. Utilizes resources effectively – evaluating internal/external resources. Develop/plan short- and long-range objectives in support of Company. Desire to self-develop and grow in one's career. Learn various aspects of the overall Brown Forman Distillery Operation.

Cost Containment

Manage overall financial results which includes budget preparation as well as materials, labor, capital and overhead. Manage/participate in budget development; maintains responsibility for labor/overhead budget; and develops scope, justification and implements cost savings projects. Requires partnership with Finance and General Manager. Leverage resources effectively to meet plant KPIs per budget standards (e.g., cost/case.).

We Are Looking For People Who

Who have a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years people management experience in a manufacturing environment or 5 -10 years applicable people management experience in a manufacturing environment. Comprehensive Knowledge of Logistics, warehousing, and supply chain. Demonstrated ability supporting teams through motivation and inclusion. Experience managing the selection, termination, development, measurement, motivation, and cooperation of team members. Ability to multi-task and measure results. Strong planning, organizing and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels. Demonstrated including planning, analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
