Brown-Forman Associate Statistician in Louisville, Kentucky
Supports BF R&D projects by performing data analysis and statistical modeling work assignments. Uses established data analysis tools and procedures. Solves routine and standard problems. Takes requests, implements analysis and interprets data with supervision.
Conduct statistical analysis, data visualization, and modeling of production and research data upon request. Uses programming skills (R, possibly python and SQL) independently. Following modern data science standards, perform statistical tasks with programming scripts to provide transparent and reproducible results and reports (RMarkdown). Performs database extractions, data cleaning and re-organization as needed.. Helps design experiments with same objective. Support Production sites cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives with statistical data analysis. Work with Production Sites to validate the performance of new equipment.
60% - Takes data analysis/programming requests from supervisor or internal customers. Determines and performs routine data clean-up & re-organization, data analysis/design of experiments and structured work assignments.
15% - Understands business background, interprets results and issues reports to supervisor or internal customer with minimum supervision.
15% - Leads and coordinates implementation of assigned projects internal to own function with minimal supervision.
10% - Monitors and maintains applications (R Shiny, Flexdashboard, Shinydashboard, Tableau), troubleshoots application issues using standard programming skills.
Required Experience & Education:
Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Statistics or Related Discipline
Experience: ● 1+ years relevant work experience
● Able to apply statistical modeling techniques (SLR, MLR, GLM), as well as hypothesis testing.
● Ability to explain technical statistical results and outcomes to non experts
● An understanding of SQL, SAP, and Salesforce databases
● Generally computer and technologically savvy
● Intermediate to high level R programming capability, and familiarity with shiny and the tidyverse of packages, especially dplyr (using %>%) and ggplot2
