Job Summary:

Bar Manager at Old Forester Distilling Co. is responsible for the day to day management of George’s Bar located inside the distillery. Bar Manager will be part of the Old Forester Distilling Co. Homeplace team and will report directly to Guest Services Manager.

Job Detail :

• Oversee production/execution of featured cocktails for downstairs bar tastings

• Oversee execution of specialty designed cocktails for events

• Train/educate support staff at distillery on execution/service of cocktails

• Coordinate with Brand Ambassador Master Taster to create cocktail calendar for seasonal features in downstairs bar

• Coordinate with digital team and Brand Ambassador Master Taster to capture assets for social use

• Coordinate with Brand Ambassador Master Taster to create mixology demo event calendar in mixology space

• Help prep for mixology classes in mixology space

• Serve as an alternate for mixology demonstrations in mixology space

• Maintain glassware/tool/ingredient inventory for bar operations at distillery

• Responsible for order placement/receipt at distillery from distributors

• Coordinate between catering partner(s) re: orders for events and ingredient needs

• Active involvement in local USBG association

Job Responsibilities:

• Open bar downstairs, prep ingredients, stock

• Stationed at bar during tour hours for guests in holding or trying products

• Maintain clean and presentable bar area at all times

• Prep for events if applicable

• Manage transactions in bar area (POS training)

• Ensure safe and responsible service in bar area

• Attend/support/work special events as needed

• Prep ingredients for single barrel selection if needed (if requested by customer)

• Maintain par levels of inventory for alcoholic, non-alcoholic, culinary, and ice items

• Clean/close up bar area at end of service

• Financial reporting

• Assist guest services team with tour strategy in relation to bar

Required Experience & Education:

Education: High School/GED/Secondary School;

Experience: High school diploma or equivalent

Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Competencies:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Must be at least 21 years of age


• Craft cocktail knowledge and techniques

• Batching techniques

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Personable and hospitable demeanor

• Bar management experience

• Excel knowledge

• Open to evenings and weekends

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Intensive brand training
