Brown-Forman Bourbon Street Cafe Dining Room Co-Lead in Louisville, Kentucky

The Co-lead will be responsible for the daily oversight of the front-of-house operations for the Bourbon Street Café, Brown-Forman's in-house dining facility located at the B-F Headquarters office in Louisville, KY. Responsibilities include clerical duties, café paperwork, cash deposits, and reservation management. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and overall general assistance with food and beverage services in the Bourbon Street Café.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee front of the house daily operation.

  • Assist in planning daily dining room layout to accommodate predicted numbers of guests

  • Facilitate communication between dining room and kitchen

  • Carry out direction given from Food Services Manager

  • Assist with communicating information from Food Services Manager and Executive Chef

  • Assign serving team daily tasks

  • Assist in training front of the house staff in all aspects of service

  • Oversee private room requests and setup

  • Assist with training all servers to ensure high professionalism and performance to meet Bourbon Street Café standards of service

  • Serve as maitre’d or host/hostess during lunch periods. Properly greet and direct guests as they enter the café. Maintain strong working relationships with executives and their assistants to assure sense of trust and reliability utilizing strong interpersonal skills, networking and brand-building priorities

  • Manage Bourbon Street Café’s reservation system including daily requests and group meals and special functions

  • Maintain high quality standards of cleanliness in front of house

  • Oversee 4th and 5th floor executive kitchens to be sure they are stocked with beverages, coffee, tea, china, and crystal. Keep accurate reports for billing

  • Accurately process all Bourbon Street Café guest’s transactions

  • Assist with deposits daily, including cash/charge reports

  • Oversee floral service from florist

  • Daily oversight for set-up and breakdown for BSC dining room

  • Manages BSC’s non-alcoholic beverage inventory

  • Serves in BSC as needed

  • Execute and oversee catered events in Administration building and others as assigned

  • Manages inventory of supplies for catered events (china, glassware, flatware, serving equipment, etc.)

  • Responsible for daily planning and execution of BSC drink feature and mock tail

  • Maintains cleanliness and stocking of guest’s coffee service in Administration Building Lobby

  • Assists with coordination of team uniforms

Must Requirements:

  • 1 - 2 years experience as a corporate assistant or restaurant supervisor

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years experience in restaurant or catering

  • Knowledge of restaurant industry and event planning

  • Customer service experience

Skills:

  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and events, including prioritization of requests and external contacts

  • Computer skills - must be familiar with Google and Word in order to work on various inventory sheets, flyers to advertise events in the café, and typing menus and buffet tags

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Bookkeeping skills

  • Capable of developing and maintaining an effective work relationship with all levels of personnel and external contacts. Must be personable and friendly to guests and coworkers

  • Ability to complete work with speed and accuracy

  • Must be able to organize multiple tasks and events. Prioritize importance of requests.

  • Must be able to project a positive image with confidence and poise to guests and hospitality team members

Salary Grade: 21

Location: Louisville, KY (for this position, relocation assistance is not available)
