Brown-Forman Data Optimization Analyst in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Description:

Scope :

The Data Optimization Analyst will be expected to exhibit the following capabilities:

  • Developing strong analytics

  • Providing strong stewardship around financial resources

  • Continuing to look for gains in operational efficiencies

  • Gaining a thorough understanding of the commercial and brand operations of the business

  • Partnering with the finance, sales and marketing organizations

  • Ability to leverage multiple sources of data and advanced tools to develop directive analytics, which includes strong visualization of the data

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to discuss financial/business strategies and translate into actionable plans

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, Implement, and Support Business Intelligence reporting using advanced data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau.

  • Leverage SQL to query and mine data for key insights

  • Monitor and resolve performance issues specific to dashboard development and delivery

  • Design and build publication-ready data visualizations using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data.

  • Lead the development of the organization’s visualization techniques

  • Summarize insights from predictive models for use in strategic decision-making and customer segmentation for BF family brands and competitor brands

  • Collaborate with the Data Science Team to discover new and creative ways to solve leading-edge problems with predictive analytics.

  • Strategize in collaboration with brand and field teams to identify data-driven solutions to ongoing needs

Must Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Tableau development and proven record of driving adoption

  • BA in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • Experience applying statistical concepts and knowledge to real-world applications.

  • Experience with data mining and manipulation, as well as merging of datasets of multiple types through execution of SQL logic

  • Understanding of both structured and unstructured data, the benefits of both, and when / how to apply them.

  • Extensive knowledge of Nielsen, NABCA and IRI retail data.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound business judgment to analytical projects and provide advice to management based on the analysis.

  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and a proactive self-starter to go looking for relevant questions to be answered.

  • Team contributor who puts the success of the group ahead of personal ambitions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to discuss financial strategies and translate into actionable plans. Ability to establish rapport with sales force management.

  • Personal honesty and integrity. Ability to effectively handle confidential information and materials.

  • Exhibit the intellectual integrity and professional maturity to provide management with objective and impartial analysis.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2 – 5 + years commercial analytics experience, preferably within the Beverage Alcohol industry

  • Strong financial acumen

  • MS in Business Analytics, MBA or related post-graduate education
