Brown-Forman Engineering Designer in Louisville, Kentucky
Support Engineering projects at multiple plant sites by preparation of drawings, construction documents, field supervision, operations and training documentation.
Prepares mechanical, electrical, process, architectural and equipment arrangement drawings. Prepares construction cost estimates and work with staff Engineers, contractors and maintenance personnel on project installation and start-up.
Manage all Autocad drafting work.
Design and prepare finished, construction-quality drawings for: piping and process systems, material handling systems, bottling line layouts, equipment machine drawings, and P&ID drawings.
Design and prepare finished, construction-quality drawings for: electrical distribution, control wiring diagrams, electrical interconnect drawings, and P.L.C. ladder logic diagrams.
Organize and maintain Engineering Autocad, drawing, and document files.
Ensure completion and accuracy of “As-Built” drawings.
Generate required “As-built” drawings of existing plants.
Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for capital projects.
Develops construction documents and specifications.
Assist staff Engineers and plant Engineers with construction management, installation, start-up, commissioning, and operating/training documentation.
Provide periodic field supervision/inspection of project installation/construction. Supervise and direct work of student interns as assigned.
Required Experience & Education:
Education: Other; Associate Degree
Certifications: Engineering Technology or Design Drafting
Experience: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or in Design Drafting equivalent with 3-6 years experience in mechanical design and drafting. Demonstrated proficiency in Auto Cad drafting. Exposure to industrial construction methods/standards. Experience with development of equipment layouts, piping and process systems, bottling line layouts, P&ID’s and electrical drawings. Working knowledge of OSHA standards and building codes. Excellent written and oral communication skills Packaging or related environment preferably in Food and Beverage. Capable of short-term, intermittent travel.
Preferred Experience & Education:
Experience: Practical construction management experience. P.L.C. programming/debugging aptitude. Machine design experience. Plant maintenance or construction work experience. Sanitary process design experience.#SM#TSM
