Brown-Forman Finished Goods Warehouse Manager in Louisville, Kentucky
Directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of 11 hourly production employees and 3 salaried employees in managing warehouse storage and domestic and export distribution of over 5M cases annually. Manages all operational related activities including operating budget, enforcing and promoting safe work practices, productivity improvement, employee accountability, overseeing capital execution, & scope creation. Responsible for all Shipping activities to insure high quality cases reach customers on time in safe and cost efficient environment. Manage capacity and inventory control at multiple warehouse locations insuring accurate TTB compliance and SAP transactions. Champion continuous improvements.
Lead process improvement and initiate change. Supervises the administrative tasks involved in maintaining accurate inventories. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in data gathering/analysis, identifying trends/gaps, building action plans, driving execution, and sustaining via routine management. Ability to facilitate projects amongst diverse teams and proven ability to gain results. Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation. Technical and problem-solving skills. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, work in ambiguous environments, and make data driven decisions.
The role is responsible for strategic target setting, developing the team, and budget adherence. Develop and monitor operations plan, scheduling, and coordinate maintenance activities to meet schedules. Coordinate and communicate with Bottling, Scheduling, B-F Logistics, Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Customer Service and external partners to ensure efficient and effective operations. Ensure compliance with applicable Federal / State regulations and corporate policies. Long range planning to ensure proper utilization of warehouse capacity to meet inventory requirements. Monitor all processes to meet quality standards. Track, analyze, and achieve operation key performance indicators. Define and maintain standards of performance to ensure safe work practices. Ensure compliance in areas of B-F quality standards, SOP’s, GMP’s and safety standards. Implement processes and procedures to assure departmental goals and objective are met. Responsible for employee training, development, and discipline. Responsible for developing the capital project requirements and budget. Works in collaboration with Processing Engineering Manager & Maintenance Manager on capital projects. Ensure storage and shipment requirements are in compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations, B-F product specifications, and Quality Control parameters. Seeks improvement and cost reduction opportunities throughout the process. Prepares and presents capital, maintenance, and departmental budgets for areas of responsibility.
Required Experience & Education:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering or related degree with 6+ years Operational Management related experience in alcoholic beverage, chemical, food, or related fast paced warehouse environment. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of operational management experience in production alcoholic beverage, chemical, food, or related fast paced warehouse environment will be considered. Logistics, planning and finished goods inventory management. Previous managerial experience supervising operations teams in a complex manufacturing environment. Proven track record for exceeding budget expectations and KPI targets. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare and present finished reports and project updates. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new systems. Demonstrated ability to work with employees at all levels of an organization and in a union environment. Demonstrated ability to embrace and lead Continuous Improvement teams. Understands Quality programs, importance of consistency, specifications, and the impact to the consumer. Detailed knowledge of hazardous material transportation requirements for domestic: DOT/IMDG/TTB/NATA.
Preferred Experience & Education:
Experience: Education: Master’s Degree (M.A., MBA or Equivalent).
Experience: 10+ year’s management experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse Management Shipping environments and Project Management.
Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles & HACCP programs preferred.
Proficient at using SAP#SM#TSM
