Brown-Forman Global Quality Assurance Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

Meaningful Work From Day One Leads the establishment and maintenance of quality levels of products through the proactive execution of quality systems and food safety management systems at designated manufacturing sites. The purpose of the role is to drive continuous improvements initiatives and to coach and develop the local QC resources technical and system competencies. This position is responsible for the leadership and the development, implementation and management of all Quality Assurance programs, projects, activities and provides technical expertise to ensure compliance to GFSI, Brown-Forman QA systems, regulatory requirements, product quality, and food safety for their designated location. Utilizes tools such as auditing, process evaluation, complaint analysis, trend analysis to achieve continuous improvement and business objectives. Reports to the Global Director of Quality Assurance.

What You Can Expect

Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.

Execute GAP analysis of quality and food safety systems, drive gap closures and investigations.

Lead and challenge QC through RCCA/CAPA to prevent issue reoccurrence.

Address product issues with a sense of urgency leading cross functional daily calls until the issue is brought to resolution.

Drive improvements and monitor Quality Metrics/KPI's at the facility.

Promote quality awareness, food safety culture, and ownership across value chain.

Monitor and assess performance of the quality systems, report its effectiveness to management and implement actions for improvement.

Ensure compliance of the audit programs for internal and external audits i.e SQF, B-F internal Audit.

Ensure compliance to Brown-Forman, local, state, and federal standards. i.e. TTB & FDA compliance.

Identify and apply “Best Practices” within the facility or from the broader network.

Advise R&D, Engineering, Consumer Service, Sales & Marketing and Supply chain on quality related matters to the manufacturing site.

Provide and execute project leadership to site quality control managers and external manufacturing sites to ensure projects is executed against timelines quality parameters.

Execute trip reports to capture formal notes on visits to sites.

Execute monthly reporting.

Participate in Brown-Forman Product recall committee when necessary.

Creation of Global Brown-Forman QA policies, procedures, and forms as to assure alignment of QA systems across global business.

Travel: 50-80%

We Are Looking For People Who

Have a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or similar scientific disciplines.

Certifications: PCQI

Minimum 7-10 years Quality Management experience with at least 3-5 years of factory QC Manager experience, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.

Must have strong knowledge and understanding of food safety / HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, pest control, basic food regulations, TTB regulations, specifications, analytical and microbiological lab methods desired, & basic food technologies.

Must have strong technical aptitude and investigation skills. Must have SQF or similar Food Safety and Quality Systems .

Quality Management Experience in the Food, CPG or Spirits industry.

Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.

Strong demonstrated verbal / written communications, influencing skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be detailed and results oriented. Statistical analysis experience is preferred.

Operates with integrity and is respectful

PC proficiency in google based applications and SAP.
