The Global Trademark Development Director role will serve as a key team member responsible for the development and deployment of the New Product Strategy for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands. This responsibility covers the full range of influences on brand and portfolio value creation – sometimes referred to as the “Five Ps” – and demands a strong grasp of the many components of the “Art & Science” of brand building. Ultimate success in the position will be assessed via a blend of brand performance metrics, talent development and leadership effectiveness.
Integral team member responsible for the development and deployment of the New Product Strategy for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands, with focus on spirit products.
Considering the intersection between consumer, brand and business needs, this role is responsible for leading opportunity identification, discovery processes, concept development and screening, brand architecture, packaging, and product development for new products.
Lead the brand and product innovation initiatives defined by the JD portfolio strategy and governed by the Stage and Gate process and BFC authorization guidelines. This connects closely with the Director Global Strategy - Portfolio and Brands and this role’s overall responsibility for the management of the BF brand and product innovation process.
Collaborates closely with Global and Local Jack Daniel’s Brand Leaders, Jack Daniel’s Distillery Leadership, R&D, Supply Chain and Innovation Leadership, as well as a wide array of Sr. Leaders across the organization
Responsible for leading the launch planning, introductory marketing plans and activity, budgeting, and launch of agreed and approved New Products.
Responsible for leading the development of global visual assets guide, creative assets, toolkits and programs associated to the launch of New Products
Responsible for leading the Jack Daniel's New Products component of the process known as the Distillery Production Process (DPP).
Responsible for the new products component of the recently approved Premium American Whiskey Strategy. This is done in a process of collaboration with the other global American Whiskey leaders (WR and OF), led by the Director Global Strategy - Portfolio and Brands.
Develop and coach the Packaging Manager in order for that person to be ready for future opportunities.

B.A. plus 10+ years CPG/FMCG marketing and brand management experience
Proven successful experience in new product development and innovation, including liquid, and packaging
Strong business acumen
Strong verbal and written communicator who can create clear images through words
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative matrix
Experience working with outside agencies (design, packaging, branding, advertising)
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative “big ideas”
Strong analytic skills and the ability to turn “insights to actions”
Strong results orientation, with a track record of delivering
Ability and willingness to travel 25-30% of the time, including some weekends
Spirits/ Bev Alc industry experience.
