Brown-Forman Manager IT Portfolio in Louisville, Kentucky
This position has oversight for a team of project managers whose responsibilities include; planning, managing and executing projects for the Information Technology Group, ranging from large complex strategic business projects of various levels of complexity based on position level/ experience. Manages project teams consisting of 10 – 50+ business analysts, technology engineers and/or external consultants – as well as business personnel project activities. Develops, oversees and manages the project budget.
Develops and implements a common project management methodology.
Create, articulate and assure project governance for IT Portfolio Management both globally and domestically
Provides program management as needed for project management and execution. Responsible for the overall direction, planning, management, communication, and coordination of IT project program.
Leadership to project managers on team.
Provides portfolio management for all large IT initiatives
Responsible for the overall direction, planning, management, communication, and coordination of IT portfolio.
Lead and manage the B-F project portfolio and the project management team function.
Create, articulate and assure project governance for IT Portfolio Management process both globally and domestically.
Responsible for establishing the departments capability (i.e., people, processes, systems and environment) to deliver superior results consistently and predictably;
Conduct proactive IT portfolio optimization and continuous process improvement for project delivery;
Develops and streamlines key functions into project management process to include: QA/Testing methodologies, project change management and communications, user acceptance/training and success criteria.
Assist in planning and managing annual project budget and allocation of resources (i.e., people and expense dollars).
Translate process/reporting needs into tools based on business/customer requirements
Manages consulting relationships for all project activities.
Function as a project manager as needed
Required Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field and 10 - 15 years progressive experience in leading the deployment of medium to large project initiatives.
Proven expertise in managing IT projects, budgets,vendors and a team
Ability to work in a high pressure environment, meet deadlines, and simultaneously develop, deploy and coordinate multiple projects.
Deep level of proficiency and understanding of information technology and the linkage between business processes, people and systems
Solid business acumen across multiple functional areas / processes
Strong facilitation skills to efficiently and effectively drive issue resolution and consensus across all levels of the organization, as well as multiple business units / functional area stakeholders.
Proven ability to effectively communicate ideas and solutions across all levels of the organization, including operational employees, senior management, technical personnel and consultants (written & verbal)
Preferred Experience & Education:
Strongly prefer PMI/PMP or equivalent certification / relevant experience.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or related field.
Experience working with consumer durables, consumer products and/or specific beverage industry experience.
Experience leading projects with international organizations with diverse cultures, business operations and organizational needs.
Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
Contractor and vendor relationship experience, including Software licensing agreements, outsourcing service models, and ASP / hosting agreements
Salary Grade: 32 4A
