Brown-Forman Old Forester Distilling Homeplace/Buy-the-Barrel Host in Louisville, Kentucky

Meaningful Work From Day One:

Responsible for coordinating, orchestrating and booking Single Barrel experiences at Old Forester Distilling Co. Responsibilities include, supporting Master Distiller and Master Taster with tastings and private tours. Work closely with Old Forester production and brand team members to communicate overall needs for the single barrel experience at the Homeplace. Must fully understand the production process, quality, and maturation, including selection of aged product which meets or exceeds the various criteria and quality parameters set forth for the Old Forester Single Barrel program.

Engage in such functions or events as: on and off-site tastings, virtual selections, VIP tours, and hosting distributor.

What You Can Expect:

  • Serves as primary contact and lead for BTB selections.

  • Develops and leads designated BTB Tours.

  • Works with Kentucky VIP/Trade Manager to coordinate/facilitate tours that may be conducted outside of Old Forester’s normal hours of operation.

  • Communicates relevant VIP/BTB information to the VIP/Trade Manager, Visitor Services Lead and Tour Captains.

  • Manages “special” VIP tour requests (i.e. additional tastings outside of the standard VIP tasting lineup).

  • Updates Production in weekly meetings on BTB visits for next 2 weeks.

  • Updates VIP/Media calendar with visits.

  • Calls BTB customers (24-48) hrs in advance to reconfirm arrival time and manage nuances.

  • Works with sales representatives on any additional requests.

  • Works with the Guest Services team for the setup and tear-down of BTB experiences.

  • Supports the Old Forester Distillery Homeplace team as needed.

  • Communicates selection information with Brand Single Barrel Manager.

  • Tags selected barrels following Single Barrel SOP guidelines.

We Are Looking For People Who:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must have or acquire and maintain certification State ServSafe Permit and be TIPS trained to serve alcohol at events.

  • Must have good knowledge of safety and security policies of Old Forester Distilling Co. in relation to media requests; specific understanding of areas of sensitive and dangerous components.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings. The current weekly schedule is Tuesday - Saturday, but is subject to change.

  • Experience leading guided tasting experiences and the ability to educate groups on brand knowledge and history.

  • Demonstrated ability to taste and evaluate whiskey products.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the distillery process operation; maturation procedures and a complete understanding of the entire process of making and aging bourbon.

  • Strong understanding of B-F culture and the Old Forester Brand.

  • External whiskey certifications (Stave & Thief, CSS, etc).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the history of Old Forester Distilling Co. and the family of products produced.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the distillery process operation; maturation procedures and a complete understanding of the entire process of making and aging Old Forester.
