Brown-Forman Senior Financial Analyst in Louisville, Kentucky

Member of the finance and accounting team for Brown-Forman Distillery Operations which includes production sites located on Brown-Forman's main campus and in Shively. This position provides financial and accounting support in the manufacturing of over 5 million 9 liter cases. This position is responsible for accurate financial reporting, analysis and compliance. This individual supports financial decision making by collecting, reconciling, investigating/analyzing and reporting financial data. This includes accounting and closing activities, production reporting, as well as quarterly account reconciliations. Additionally, this role partners with operations to ensure that we effectively manage our production costs and provides support to the finance team during the annual budget process.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs monthly closing procedures, including journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations.

Performs process order variance analysis throughout the month, including investigating and resolving issues. Executes month-end process order settlement and variance analysis as part of closing process.

Conducts reviews of financial activity to ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records.

Identifies accounting problems, researches solutions, and provides recommendations to manager and others. Analyzes, classifies, and reviews accounting transactions and interrelationships.

Performs ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by Finance and Operations management.

Projects product costing for raw materials annually for all active materials and as new package changes or SKU changes occur throughout the year.

Provides financial support to departments within B-F Bottling, in the form of reporting, planning, and tracking actual expenditures.

Ensures systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, GAAP, SOX and other applicable controls.

Manages SAP setup of product specifications for BFB to facilitate transition from product concept to manufacturing execution. Translates manufacturing requirements from various functional areas into processes in the SAP - ERP system.

Actively participates in the production facility’s continuous improvement efforts. Partners with various cross-functional team members and provides data to measure progress against goals.

Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in quality and continuous improvement.

Creates and maintains process documentation for training and ongoing support.

Required Experience & Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field

Minimum 5 years' business experience with an accounting/finance related focus

Strong financial and analytical abilities with the ability to collect, analyze, and present results in a concise format.

Continuous improvement mindset.

Ability to work independently and execute responsibilities in a high volume, deadline oriented environment; willingness and adaptability to organize, implement, and perform quality work with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work with complex data sources utilizing Microsoft Excel.

Proficiency in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and concepts.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.

Proven written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly discuss business issues and translate into financial implications and action plans.

Preferred Experience & Education:

Experience: Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP environment.

Manufacturing operations with cost accounting experience.

Beverage alcohol industry experience.

Experience with Access Database.

Knowledge of inventory control and procedures.
