Brown-Forman Senior Marketing Operations Manager - USA & Canada in Louisville, Kentucky

The USA & Canada business, led by 400+ people, represents over 13.5 million cases of 9L volume and over $2.2 billion in gross sales. Given more than 350K trade outlets and over 250 million legal drinking age consumers, we are regularly working to maximize the impact and efficiency of our sales promotional materials that activate the points of purchase and consumption. The Senior Marketing Operations Manager (USA & Canada Sales Promotion) will lead our Sales Promotion team, oversee a successful relationship with our global agency partner (HHG), and play a critical role building alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness relative to how Brown-Forman operates with point-of-sale and gift materials across the globe.

In order to successfully accomplish the prior mentioned objectives, the Senior Marketing Operations Manager (USA & Canada Sales Promotion) will travel less than 20% and partner with brand management, customer marketing, and regional sales operations.

What You Can Expect:

(1) Lead and develop the USA & Canada Sales Promotion team members to successfully plan and oversee the fulfillment of POS materials with their key customers (i.e. brands, national accounts, & commercial regions).

Guide and empower the team to prioritize and develop fit-for purpose point-of-sale solutions.

Ensure the team is equipped with competitive and innovative insights.

Ensures alignment and consistency relative to metrics of success, ways of working across the sales promotion team and with brand teams, national account teams, and commercial region teams.

Proactively seek diverse points of view and build a team culture that empowers and inspires transparent and candid communication.

(2) Oversee the relationship, successful coordination, and metrics of success associated with our Global POS sourcing partner HHG, and the USA & Canada region.

Collaborate with other regional leads to provide input and support relative to our global HHG contract and ways of working.

Responsible for developing/managing the local statements of work in their region ensuring both parties are partnering appropriately and meeting the terms of the agreements.

Ensure that agency staffing, systems, and reporting are efficient and effective

Develop, lead, manage, and promote our processes and procedures to ensure we are operating efficiently and in alignment with all procurement policies (eg. supplier code of conduct, etc.) across the region.

Oversee HHG’s successful management of warehousing, inventory management, eCommerce, and on-time shipping.

Oversee regular and annual business performance reviews with HH Global in order to ensure we are excelling relative to prioritized KPIs & budget management

(3) Lead & support the global efficiency & effectiveness of points of sale & gift execution across Brown-Forman

Drives collaborative efforts across the region to ensure we are leveraging the expertise and buying power that HHG will provide, as well as ensuring we are appropriately creating/purchasing the correct ratio of globally, regionally, and locally-created POS.

Align and coordinate regional buy calendars while contributing to the global buy schedules.

Ensures B-F & HHG systems are set up and maintained for proper financial reporting, invoicing processing, account reconciling, and intercompany transactions.

Champion our partnership with HH Global, encourage the region to follow the defined ways of working, balance what we create vs. adapt vs adopt, and monitor for feedback and opportunity.

Partners with regional leadership and divisional market manager to evaluate how the market is applying the BF Way of Brand Building as it applies to POS. Sharing reports and providing recommendations where adjustments may be needed.

What Exactly Are We Looking For?

Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years experience in a consumer goods environment and/or at least 10 years relevant experience

Proven ability to engage, empower and develop talent through inclusive leadership

Demonstrated experience leading below the line marketing and/or procurement initiatives

Strong written and verbal communicator with demonstrated success developing and leveraging relationships to drive people and business growth

Demonstrated experience leading change and influencing decisions/outcomes

Ability to lead through ambiguity and VUCA conditions

Experience managing agency/external partners

Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and results orientation

Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including some weekends

Spirits/bev alc industry experience
