Brown-Forman Senior Project Manager - IT in Louisville, Kentucky
This position has primary responsibility for planning, managing and executing projects for Brown-Forman, ranging from medium to large complex strategic business and IT projects of various levels of scope, complexity, duration and project team size. This role will manage project teams consisting of 10-50+ business analysts, technology engineers, external consultants, and/or business personnel. Develops, oversees and manages project budgets. Coaches and mentors less experienced project managers on projects.
Manage IT & Business Initiatives
Leads the delivery of medium to large initiatives (enterprise- wide, unit-specific and tactical operational projects).
Oversees all project activities and overall delivery.
Simultaneously leads multiple projects, coordinating resources across IT and within the business operating units.
Partners with the respective Business Leaders and associated IT Managers/Directors to ensure a quality delivery of project deliverables. Ensures project activities are aligned to deliver the identified technology strategies, and business goals / objectives, while meeting quality, scheduling, budget, and IT standards requirements.
Through project deployment, fosters and guides full adoption of tools, services and common business processes, and cultivates super- users to strengthen solution ownership and self-sufficiency.
Provides leadership in ensuring consistent use of the project methodology.
Drives the importance of Testing / QA practices /Security, as well as IT and business cross-training across all project initiatives.
Ensures internal controls and Brown Forman’s compliance requirements are consistently practiced and maintained.
Working in conjunction with the Program Management Center of Excellence and respective management team members, provides accurate project timelines and cost estimates for the analysis, construction, testing and implementation phases of projects. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field
8 - 10 years progressive experience in leading the deployment of medium to large project initiatives
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or related field.
Strongly prefer PMI or equivalent certification / relevant experience.
Experience working with consumer durables, consumer products and/or specific beverage industry experience.
Experience leading projects with international organizations with diverse cultures, business operations and organizational needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work in a high pressure environment, meet deadlines, and simultaneously develop, deploy and coordinate multiple projects.
Experience in performing the overall project management role for several medium to large scale project initiatives.
Project management experience leading initiatives of 12+ months in duration, 6,000+ man days of effort, and project teams consisting of 25+ full-time project team members.
Deep level of proficiency and understanding of information technology and the linkage between business processes, people and systems.
Solid business acumen across multiple functional areas / processes.
Experience in industries that include manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
Proven ability to effectively communicate ideas and solutions across all levels of the organization, including operational employees, senior management, technical personnel and consultants (written & verbal.
Strong facilitation skills to efficiently and effectively drive issue resolution and consensus across all levels of the organization, as well as multiple business units / functional area stakeholders. Well versed in project management tools and methodology.
