Brown-Forman Server, Catering and Hospitality Professional in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Description:

We are looking for team oriented hospitality professionals to join our team. Experience is helpful but character and initiative is most important. This role is focused on teamwork and with that we are looking for individuals with a high degree of integrity that can deliver excellence for our guests.

The Bourbon Street Café at Brown-Forman’s Corporate headquarters provides daily lunch service to Brown-Forman executives, employees, and their guests. The café is staffed by a team of hospitality professionals. The Bourbon Street Café staff plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional guest experience for Brown-Forman executives, employees and guests. In addition to lunch service, the hospitality team caters Brown-Forman meetings and events. We are currently seeking a Server, Catering and Hospitality Professional to join our team. Hours: Bourbon Street Café lunch shift from 10:00 – 2:00 Monday – Friday. Additional hours will vary based on catering needs/ special events and may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Job Summary:

  • Works with other Café team to set up stations in specified manner

  • Instrumental in assisting all of team in the cleaning and maintenance of the restaurant, specifically, dusting and general tidiness, proper table set up, neat, clean and well supplied stations, and any other efforts that would contribute to the condition of the Café and well-being of fellow staff and guests.

  • Keeps all stations adequately stocked with necessary supplies before, during and after meal periods. Also maintains neatness and cleanliness of station.

  • During the meal period, service tables by filling and replenishing water glasses along with serving hot and cold beverages as often as requested or required.

  • Cleans, sets, maintains, and helps set tables for next meal setting. Also replenishes supplies for next setting.

  • Must learn and be knowledgeable of all procedures regarding the serving of food and beverage as well as being knowledgeable about the menu items, and all Brown-Forman brands.

  • Set up and delivery of food and beverage service to meeting rooms and cleanup at completion of meeting.

  • When time permits, assist food service staff in preparation of foods such as salads, sandwiches, breads, and condiments for the day.

  • Meet and greet guests during Café hours.

  • Assist with checking out guests at cash register.

  • Assist with private parties and/or functions, some at senior level executive homes.

  • Runs errands for Café as necessary.

  • Must follow Kentucky’s food establishment rules and regulations for personal cleanliness, clothing, employee practices and employee health.

Must Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills, flexibility, and commitment to guest satisfaction

  • Available to work a flexible, part-time schedule including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends as needed (work days and hours vary in accordance with business demand)

  • Must be a brand ambassador and willing to learn and promote Brown-Forman’s brands

  • Computer skills needed to be able to send/receive emails, enter time in payroll system, review and/or update Google Docs and Google Sheets

  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds

  • Bend, lean or stoop without hindrances

  • Work within different temperatures (indoor/outdoor/walk-in freezer)

  • Fine motor skills

​Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality industry as a server in a full service restaurant, fine dining preferred

  • Knowledge of proper serving & clearing procedures for food and beverages in fine dining

  • Knowledge of proper wine service
