Brown-Forman Temporary BTG Expense Specialist in Louisville, Kentucky
This is a temporary position through Brown-Forman's Reserve Power temporary pool. A temporary position may last up to one year but will not extend beyond one year.
The BTG Expense Specialist within the Business Transactions Group provides accounting and process support for company-wide accounts payable and expense processing applications. This position routinely interacts with the Manager to complete month-end and year-end close duties along with assisting with BTG-relevant SOX compliance reviews and improvements.
Assist Manager in completing month-end and year-end close activities timely and accurately, including, but not limited to, generation and distribution of monthly T&E and payroll reports, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and posting journal entries.
Responsible for managing and all facets of company purchasing card program including issuing cards and reconciling purchasing card account.
Partner with Expense Processing team to audit travel and entertainment transactions and purchasing card transactions. Follow-up with employees regarding non-compliant transactions.
Create, modify, and maintain multiple Access databases and associated queries, macros, and tables, used for data mining of large volumes of transactions related to employee travel expenses, invoices, and payroll activity.
Research and resolve Accounts payable payment and posting exceptions
Assist Payments Analyst with entering and updating vendor bank details
Assist various BTG teams with special projects and varied assignments.
Maintain confidentiality of all expense processing data. Ensure information is provided only to authorized individuals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
1-2 years of experience in a financial or accounting-related position.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
Proficient in building queries in Microsoft Access.
Work independently and complete tasks with planning and organization in a high volume, deadline-oriented environment.
Perform work with accuracy and attention to detail amidst frequent interruptions.
Strong analytical skills: identify, research, and resolve complex business situations.
Strong interpersonal skills: develop and maintain effective and trusting working relationships with all levels of the business internally and externally.
Work flexible schedule and extended hours when necessary.
Prior experience with functional areas of SAP, such as FICO or other ERP applications.
Prior experience with T&E system administration.
Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft productivity applications.
