The Old Forester Distillery is an interactive, consumer experience designed to showcase the craftsmanship and authenticity of Old Forester, America’s first bottled bourbon. We will give our consumers a look into how Old Forester comes to life and each team member will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and authenticity of this experience as they interact with our consumers throughout their visit of our Homeplace.
Whiskey Experience Multi-Craft Team Members (2 openings)
Distillery Days and Hours of Operation
Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
First Shift Hours 9:30 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Off Shift Hours 2:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
Must have flexibility to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
The openings (2 Whiskey Experience Multi-Craft Team Members) will rotate between day and evening shifts. Day shift will support our visitor hours approximately 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. and Evening shift will support maintenance, shipping and receiving and will be approximately 2:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. Must have flexibility to work 3 out of 4 weekends monthly.
The multi-craft position will be part of the operational team that will showcase the craftsmanship and authenticity of Old Forester while also playing an active role in what will be a highly engaging consumer and visitor experience.
The scope of this role is to perform all preventative maintenance (electrical and mechanical) and downtown maintenance for equipment in the distilling, processing, bottling, and coopering areas with a focus on producing high quality, on-time and cost-efficient products. This position will also be responsible for shipping and receiving items needed for an efficient operations on a daily basis. All team members will be responsible for a proactive approach toward creating and maintaining safe work conditions and practices.
Ability to interact with visitors as needed to showcase the craftsmanship and authenticity of Old Forester in a positive, engaging style.

Will install, maintain and repair equipment such as motors, conveying systems, hydraulics, pneumatic and centrifugal pumps including replacement of bearings, diaphragms and mechanical seals.
Will be responsible for in-depth machine repair which includes trouble shooting, disassembly, cleaning, repairing and reassembly of machines. Also includes testing to ensure machines are operable.
Will diagnose basic electrical problems of both single and three-phase electrical systems and the ability to replace motors and equipment.
Will maintain and repair PLC and facilities systems such as lighting, water and plumbing.
Responsible for incoming and outgoing materials and ensure all are organized and stored appropriately.
Provide daily support to line set up and change overs which will require staging of raw materials.
Maintain necessary records for operational and auxiliary equipment conditions and usage.
Adhere to all safety requirements and sanitation requirements.
Troubleshoot equipment, instrumentation and pumps of the distillation system.
Monitors water supplies to assure adequate supply for needed production and fire protection.
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment such as motors, pumps, conveying systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Knowledge of facilities systems such as lighting, water and plumbing and the ability to maintain and repair these systems
Able to read, write and perform basic math functions so as to complete necessary reports; understand; specifications, complex instructions and manuals.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn to operate computerized equipment and systems.
Experience working within a high performing work team i.e. working in an environment where there is a shared understanding and accountability of the vision, goals and metrics which in turn promotes teamwork and collaboration to accomplish tasks/results.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and engage with consumers.
High school diploma or GED
2 years previous experience in maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Full body mobility and the ability to move about in a production environment to include: Bending, squatting, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing and twisting on an occasional basis.
Lifting and carrying from the ground to waist height and pushing, pulling and maneuvering up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and 100 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to work any shift and/or overtime as required.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Certifications in welding or a journeyman’s electrical certification
Experience in woodworking facility
Pipe fitting / machinist experience
Strong electrical abilities and knowledge of both single and three-phase electrical systems and the ability to diagnose basic electrical problems and replace motors and equipment.
Knowledge of PLC systems
SAP systems knowledge
Excellent welding skills
