Meaningful Work From Day One:

Working under the direction of Store Retail Operations Supervisor, responsible for leading a team of four Jack Daniel full-time employees and more than 20 Staffmark temporary employees. The focus of Assistant Supervisor is working with all store staff daily ensuring all areas have proper coverage, zones scheduled and expected customer hospitality interactions. Team problem solver as issues arise. Creates daily lead schedule with sales goal numbers. Leads team daily to give visiting guests the best shopping experience. Responsible for scheduling and approving staff paid time off, while reporting time off to Store Retail Operations Supervisor.

Assists in interview process of new hires and training of new employees on store policies and the current POS system. Helps monitor inventory levels in store. Acts as additional sales associate.

What You'll Do in This Role:

The Assistant Supervisor is team driven, a problem solver and is sales/hospitality focused.

Leads Team daily to ensure our visiting guests have the best shopping experience! Leads team culture to uphold the Brown-Forman values of integrity, respect, trust, and teamwork, while meeting the standard of excellence set by the Jack Daniel Homeplace.

Responsible for staff scheduling and approving PTO of staff and reporting time off to Store Retail Operations Supervisor.

Must serve as a Lightspeed POS administrator, handling opening/closing, cash management, sales, and discounts.

Must work rotating weekends as scheduled.

Help with donations and gift package fulfillment as needed.

Tracks supplies needed for daily operations.

Supervises/leads daily activities of LHGS/BS team while striving to keep employees engaged in a positive work environment. Responsible for overseeing the daily workflow. Assists in the hiring/interview process. Responsible for scheduling, zoning of staff and approving PTO.

Responsible for communicating any maintenance issues so that work orders can be filled and taken care of. Stays on top of safety requirements.

Liaison with Inventory Controllers regarding overstock or slow-moving inventory.

Troubleshoot and report LightSpeed POS issues.

Acts as additional salesclerk as needed with scheduled rotating weekends.

Assist with making gift baskets/packages as needed. Respond to email correspondence. Participates in and fosters employee engagement in local marketing promotions, town events, and internal marketing.

Other duties as assigned.

What Exactly Are We Looking For:

Education: High School/GED/Secondary School;

Experience: Minimum 5 years of retail, merchandising or hospitality experience.

Must be strong people leader, problem solver, team driven, and hospitality/sales focused.

Excellent analytical/mathematical skills to transact sales and trouble shoot problems with the following: balance cash drawers, check receipts, verify stock received, and check inventory. Must learn LightSpeed POS and be knowledgeable in Excel and Microsoft Word.

Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.

Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and a rotating schedule as required.

Ability to present a positive image of Jack Daniel Distillery and the Lynchburg community.

Must have or be able to learn extensive historical information regarding the company, community, and Jack Daniel’s.

What Makes You Unique:
