Brown-Forman Jack Daniel's Buyer in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Scope of Position:
Responsible for purchasing and expediting goods and services for the Lynchburg facility.
Responsible for the accurate operation and utilization of the SAP system.
Responsible for purchasing and expediting of purchased packaging materials, equipment, parts, services and supplies, to insure the best price and on-time deliveries for the Lynchburg operation. Responsible for the flow of communications within purchasing and internal customers. Maintains and monitors insurance certificates for JD contractors. Performs clerical duties for the department as needed. This is to be accomplished within the established polices and procedures and the SAP system.
Purchase goods and services as required by internal customers at the best cost and in a timely manner utilizing SAP purchasing, P-cards, Internet services, etc.
Coordinates and communicates with suppliers and carriers to insure that specified delivery dates are met on purchase orders issued by the purchasing group. Thus obtaining the best delivery of materials and services on a just in time basis at the lowest overall cost.
Ensure effective use and implementation of computerized Sap system .
At direction of buyers and manager, release materials as needed with suppliers.
Review and resolves claims and complaints with suppliers regarding unsatisfactory Materials and services.
Maintains contact and effective working relationships with all levels of personnel both Internal and external.
While working with suppliers will maintain a current contractor insurance certificate database.
Complete special reports regarding items such as ISO, P-card, etc.
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
Four year degree with 4-6 years experience in purchasing, warehousing/ shipping, inventory control
or related business field.
Demonstrated proficiency with ERP Software and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain, effective working relationships with all levels of personnel
Both internal and external.
Demonstrated administrative skills necessary to establish the proper work priorities: ability to act with initiative
Regarding follow-up and the completion of tasks.
Demonstrated oral communication skills in a professional manner.
Four year degree in business or procurement.
