Brown-Forman Jack Daniel's Distillery Production Manager in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Scope of Position Responsible for the management of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery Operations’ including grain receiving, milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, and charcoal mellowing. Coordinates with the Boiler, By-Products, Water Treatment Plant, Charcoal Production, and the Warehousing departments to ensure efficient operations within established plant metrics. Works with the Production Supervisor to create and keep a schedule for the operator teams to ensure staffing requirements are satisfied. Manage the relationships with the Operations’ support functions including Maintenance, Quality Control, Environmental Health and Safety, and Human Resources to confirm guidelines are followed and requirements and regulations are being met.

Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating Distillery operations with the Boiler, Dryhouse, Wastewater Plant, and Charcoal Production departments to maximize levels of production, quality, and budget adherence.

Responsible for execution of plant policies and procedures for areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with all Company/Corporate directed safety, quality, sanitation/housekeeping, and environmental requirements.

Responsible for maintaining an adequate local inventory of all grains, water, and other needed materials.

Responsible for working with Maintenance Manager and Engineering Department to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules, efficient planning of maintenance work in conjunction with production schedules, and adherence to budget items in the maintenance areas.

Responsible for assisting in establishing the operational budgets for the Distillery Operations. Once established, ensure departments operate within or below their respective budget.

Collect and route all production data for areas of responsibility to Department and Plant Managers.

Work with the Grain Procurement Department and Quality Control Department to insure that the grains received meet acceptable standards.

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):

Five or more years in depth production/plant operation experience, along with at least two years supervisory experience.

BS Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Computer skills– including spreadsheets, word processing, communications, etc.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Mechanical aptitude

Demonstrated leadership skills

Demonstrated knowledge and compliance to safety, environmental, and sanitation requirements.

Requirements as detailed in the Quality Standards.

Preferred Requirements

MS Degree in a related field.

Five or more years distillery operations experience.
