Brown-Forman Jack Daniel's Distillery Supervisor in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Scope of Position: Responsible for the supervision of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery Operations’ processes and staff consistent with the annual production plan and requirements. Coordinates and schedules grain deliveries and other raw materials based on the production schedule, operational needs, and sourcing strategy. Collaborates with the Boiler/By-Products Operations to optimize distillery steam usage, stillage output, and waste water mitigation. Works with the Production Manager to create and keep a schedule for the operator teams to ensure staffing requirements are met. Maintain an adequate inventory of operating and safety supplies. Foster relationships with the Operations’ support functions including Maintenance, Quality Control, Environmental Health and Safety, and Human Resources to confirm guidelines are followed and requirements and regulations are being met.

Basic Function:

The basic function of this position is to supervise the distillery operations’ processes and staff to meet production goals and metrics.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and schedule grain and other raw material deliveries based on the production schedule, operational needs, and sourcing strategy.

Plan and keep the operator team schedules to make sure the production staffing requirements are met.

Work with Maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are executed and to efficiently plan maintenance work in conjunction with production schedules.

Collaborate with the Boiler and By-Products Operations to optimize distillery steam usage, stillage output, waste water mitigation, and process water quality.

Follow and advocate plant policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all directed safety, quality, sanitation/housekeeping, and environmental requirements.

Collect, calculate, and route production data and inventory quantities for areas of responsibility to department and plant managers.

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or related field and two years of operational leadership experience, or an Associate’s degree plus four years operational leadership experience, or six years operational experience in a manufacturing environment and post-secondary education combination.

Minimum of two years distillery or related environment (chemical, processing environment) production/plant operation experience. ​

Computer skills including use of spreadsheets, word processing, databases, etc.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Mechanical aptitude

Demonstrated leadership skills

Demonstrated knowledge and compliance to safety, environmental, and sanitation requirements.

Preferred Requirements:

MS Degree in a related field.

5-plus years distillery operations experience
