Brown-Forman Jack Daniel's Purchasing Manager in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Scope of Position:
Lead the Jack Daniel’s purchasing team, in the procurement of all Lynchburg site goods and services, while optimizing the value delivered to stakeholders. Provide guidance and development for the JD Cooperage Senior Buyer. Lead Sourcing across multiple sites for assigned categories. Support major corporate Sourcing systems, processes, and projects as needed. Help develop and implement the B-F Strategic Sourcing evolution, as a member of the procurement functional leadership team. Staff size of 3 direct reports and 1 matrix report. Responsible for approximately $150 million in annual expenditures.
Sourcing of commodities and ingredients for multiple B-F Ops sites as assigned.
Implement and maintain Sourcing best practices and initiatives via cross-functional coordination.Optimize the Sourcing value delivered in the areas of Quality, Service, Innovation, Risk Mitigation, and Cost.
Develop the Purchasing team members professional capabilities, and help them achieve their career aspirations.
Lead major RFP, negotiation, contract, and supplier performance activities for goods and services, to include achieving Supplier Diversity goals.
Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, and align them to Sourcing plans and actions.
Ensure policies, procedures, processes, and financial controls are effectively implemented, while adhering to B-F values and maintaining the highest level of ethics
Support and help lead major corporate projects and efforts as assigned, including system implementations, and Sourcing initiatives and strategies across categories, functions, and sites.

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
Bachelor’s degree, with minimum 10 years of experience, and 5 of those in procurement.
Ability to develop strategic sourcing plans and implement through exceptional execution, and to adjust as needed
Strong negotiation skills; and the ability to create effective partnerships with suppliers
Ability to build excellent relationships with stakeholders, and align them with Sourcing strategies and plans
Strong communication skills. Able to persuade, and build support for key initiatives by delivering clear, concise presentations
Ability to influence decision making when working in cross-functional teams, and lead initiatives among peer groups
Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to apply to them to plans, evaluations, and decisions.
Fundamental understanding of contract terms and conditions, and how to optimize contracts.
Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives effectively, to ensure the business needs are met
Ability to give team members effective feedback, develop them professionally, and help them achieve their career aspirations
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time.
ERP system experience (SAP and Coupa preferred)
Experience with logistics and supply chain operations
Distilled spirits, beer, food and beverage, or other CPG industry experience
