Brown-Forman Quality Control and Packaging Specialist - 2nd Shift (Jack Daniel's Distillery) in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Meaningful Work From Day One:

Responsible for material and finished package quality from receipt through shipment. Support Processing, Bottling, Receiving, and Shipping serving as the main contact for Quality support in support of 2nd shift operations. Collects and reports quality, production, and process information to management. Coordinates laboratory testing and other departmental activities to maintain compliance with TTB regulations.

What You Will Do in This Role:

  • Responsible for Bottling Quality support during 2nd shift operations

  • Perform Quality Package Audits and monitor finished package quality throughout production shift to ensure finished product quality.

  • Work jointly with Bottling Supervisor’s to address quality issues related to packaging materials and/or finished product.

  • Review materials upon receipt for correctness as compared to specifications for compliance.

  • Monitor and provide quality support for special bottlings and/or projects produced on production shift.

  • Monitors repack and/or reselection of finished product and/or packaging materials.

  • Support vendor supplier programs through collected data and reporting of material performance.

  • Document pertinent information for reselection per shift in compliance with quality system

  • Effectively communicate across departments findings related to packaging materials.

  • Troubleshoot material and/or production equipment to effectively determine help eliminate line performance issues.

  • Ability to work weekends as needed and overtime to help with Quality Control coverage for absences of Quality Control Specialists.

  • Engage in food safety and quality culture through support and participation of SQF activities.

  • Provides resources for continuous improvement of Food Safety and Quality system.

What Exactly Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical related field, plus 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, packaging, and/or quality.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of quality control tools and bottling manufacturing equipment to assist in troubleshooting and correcting quality issues as they arise.

  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control and apply to manufacturing environment.

  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Google Docs

  • Demonstrated communication skills—ability to clearly communicate technical issues to all levels of employees.

  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work as a team with JD production departments.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply laboratory procedures and test methods.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.

  • SalesForce, ETQ Reliance database knowledge

  • Knowledge of SQF standards.

  • Professional certifications related to quality control and quality systems. .

  • Knowledge of SAP software for inventory control and quality management.

  • Knowledge of BATF regulations as they apply to distilled spirits.
