Brown-Forman Paralegal in Moscow, Russia
Paralegal will assist the Senior Attorney – Russia, Ukraine & CIS by providing legal and administrative support related to the Company’s operations in Russia, Ukraine, and CIS (the “Territory”).
Legal Research and Analysis. Perform legal research and analysis as instructed by the Senior Attorney; perform monitoring of relevant legislative developments; provide legal opinions to the Senior Attorney and to the Leadership Team in Russia.
Commercial Contracts. Support the commercial, marketing, and finance teams by providing contractual support related to the sales of the Company’s products in the Territory. Tasks generally would include drafting, reviewing, risk analyses, and translating commercial agreements. Tasks may include contract negotiation, facilitating the corporate contract approval process, and drafting of corporate contract templates.
Commercial Legal Advice. Provide day to day legal advice to the commercial and marketing teams.
Corporate Documentation. Provide general corporate legal support related to the local corporate subsidiaries within the Territory; prepare and translate corporate resolutions, approvals, powers of attorney and official correspondence including communication with notary offices.
HR Support. Provide legal support related to labor and employment matters.
Marketing Compliance. Review the Russian social media pages for the Finlandia and Jack Daniel’s brands for compliance with the BF Marketing Code; review trade marketing initiatives for compliance with the Russian regulations and the BF Marketing Code.
Beverage Alcohol Related. Assist with matters related to the maintenance of the Company’s Russia Alcohol Activity License.
Compliance. Assist the Senior Attorney in implementing compliance-related initiatives (risk management, trainings, processes and controls).
Administrative. Assist with e-mail and calendar management for the Senior Attorney; maintain documentary records for the Russian Legal department.
JD, or Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent from an accredited Russian law school and admission to the bar in Russia.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant legal experience in corporate legal department.
Fluency (oral and written) in Russian and English languages.
Experience with US-based or global corporate clients.
Experience drafting, negotiating and translating contracts.
Experience interacting with Russian regulators.
Strong business sense and business partnership mindset.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Collegial, positive attitude; self-starter.
Project management experience.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize conflicting demands from multiple business partners in a very fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm to learn and develop beverage alcohol industry-related expertise.
