As an essential member of the BF Czechia & Slovakia leadership team the key responsibility is to be a steward of the organization culture, driving a unified purpose across the commercial organization by being an active and collaborative member of the Czechia and Slovakia Leadership Team. Pivotal to this role, is the ability to inspire, motivate, empower and develop our sales team and beyond, in partnership with HR. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading a talented group of Key Accounts, Area Sales Manager and Field Sales.

Meaningful Work From Day One

The incumbent contributes significantly to the future strategic direction of the company and is key in guiding and formulating Brown-Forman Czechia and Slovakia long-term strategies and executing annual company plans.

The role is accountable for providing people with insights to drive organization, culture, D&I and capability plans; as well as partnering with all Functional Leaders to ensure an aligned and cohesive Customer and Channel Strategy.

This is a role with strong influence and representation both locally and within the different international forums at Brown-Forman such as the European Sales Council and our Integrated Business Planning process.

This position requires approximately 25% of time traveling.

Internally this role will be called Senior Sales Manager Czechia & Slovakia. This is an office/hybrid role out of our fantastic office in Prague (3 days a week in the office).

What You Can Expect

Sales leadership and Business Development

  • Meets/exceeds commercial objectives of all brands across all channels including annual volume, value, gross profit margins & market share objectives

  • Works closely with the Leadership Team and Functional Heads on the development of business and portfolio strategies as well as annual, mid- and long term plans

  • Responsible for Sales strategy creation and implementation.

  • Drives clear operational (sales) processes including leadership of the monthly sales forecasting and championing the monthly Sales & Business Planning process cycle

  • Responsible for the implementation of pay for performance trade terms and price structures

  • Leads regular sales meetings and development of one strong CZ & SK sales team

  • Leads the yearly negotiation process together with dedicated sales team members including preparation of desired outcome and key assumptions based on mid and long term Strategy of the organization

Culture, Organisation and Talent Development (in partnership with HR)

  • Provides strong leadership and direction to the sales team

  • Support team development by providing opportunities and coaching to the team with on-going appreciative and constructive feedback.

  • Engages the Team in company’s visions and directions and motivates the Team to make active contribution

  • Leads a diverse and inclusive culture where different perspectives are encouraged and individuals feel connected and valued

  • Drives D&I strategy implementation in Sales organization

Business Analytics and Insights

  • Improves quality of strategic operating planning via in-depth ongoing analysis of market trends and identification of company/brand’s strengths and weaknesses

  • Manages the company’s sales planning, controlling of discounts/ promotional spending and sales results, reporting and forecasting requirements and processes

  • Providing analysis and explanations for variances vs. forecast and last year by channel, customer and by brand. Identifies upsides and downsides to the forecast to identify and understand key performance risks

  • Assumes overall responsibility for daily sales issues, selling process and successful money collection, distribution level, pricing, execution of brand building activities, sales analysis and projections

What You Bring to the Table

  • Significant sales experience in leadership positions, ideally in off and on trade channels, profound knowledge of the Czechia / Slovakia market and trade.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering sales objectives in a highly competitive environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop Sales organization and a strong talent pipeline.

  • Prior Experience preferably in wine and premium spirits or FMCG industries

  • Fluent Czech and English, both spoken and written

  • Highly self-motivated, high-energy, and capable of handling multiple tasks and getting things done on time

  • You must be a visionary to bring long-term, strategic insight; be innovative to recognize potential opportunities and come up with creative solutions

  • Very strong communication skills, ability to work effectively and efficiently under time pressure, while managing multiple tasks
