Brown-Forman Marketing Manager - China in Shanghai, China

Job Description:

Job Summary:

• Build the portfolio strategy for the overall business. Clearly delineate the role of

each of the expressions within the portfolio including the RTD business –

• Lead a team of brand and trade marketing managers to represent the function on

the leadership team and operationally align plans with other functions

• Lead activation of strategy directly in collaboration with the sales and ecommerce

team to make sure that consumer experiences are aligned – right from retail to direct

consumer experiences.

• Strict management of brand spends across the entire family to ensure that the

investment is spent on activations with the highest return on investment.

• Work with the general manager to provide support to distributor partners and

senior management in Asia to give them the confidence on strategy and plans.

Job Responsibilities:

Brand Management

• Liaise with regional and global brand executives to ensure that brand plans

adhere to global strategy in on / off / e Permise;

• Devise and manage brand objectives, strategies and promotional programs in

line with global brand strategies

• Work with the insights that we generate to measure and review all relevant

research data information into development of brand building activities which build

equity whilst driving sustainable and profitable sales targets

• Collaborate with other Asia marketing and brand managers to build cost


• Monitor brand performance against sales forecasts. Determine corrective action

where necessary in conjunction with field sales staff


• Lead and develop a team of brand and activation managers

• Manage the brand P&L

• Prepare and present product/brand presentations and proposals

• Liaise with agency partners in the design and production of marketing materials.

• Provide guidance and leadership to On Premise Brand Champions

Commercial Management

• Partner with sales account and state managers to ensure delivery of brand plan

executables to our field team

• Spend time in the trade to understand practical implementation of all marketing

promotional activities

• Lead and negotiate all sponsorship proposals and agreements to the benefit of the brand

• Liaise with sales staff on the execution of marketing plans in the field, and review

the effectiveness of all marketing activities.

• Conduct full marketing evaluations and make recommendations for any changes

that might benefit the brand

Required Experience & Education:

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);

Experience: • Marketing or business related tertiary qualification -

• Local activation experience –

• 6+ years of developing brand and category strategies – medium- and long-term

• 3 years + in a man management role/leadership role

• Marketing related role in a FMCG company

Preferred Experience & Education:

Experience: • Experience in trade marketing or consumer insights/commercial role

• In-depth knowledge of China trade and activation elements

• Experience in liquor industry, particularly On Premise
