Brown-Forman Commercial Finance & FP&A Analyst - Singapore in Singapore, Singapore
Meaningful Work From Day One This is a dual responsibility role with strong analytical support for:
Emerging Asia Finance Manager on several aspects of financial management of Emerging Asia Cluster and aligning pricing across Asia markets
Asia Regional FP&A Manager in developing and maintaining forecast templates, preparing for Monthly Business Reviews and driving communication of planning calendar and processes as well as analytical support for controllable SG&A expenses
What you can Expect;
1. Commercial Support and Analytical Insights for Emerging Asia (50%):
Achieve a deep understanding of cluster markets and give support to the Finance Manager and Commercial Team in areas such as pricing, margin control, new SKU creation, performance evaluation, brand investment opportunities.
Participate in and support the Finance Manager on financial aspects of monthly business reviews (MBRs). Provide monthly P&L analysis and support Finance Manager to provide insights for the cluster; track, analyze and report on discounting, growth bonuses and brand expense to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are informed and remain within budgets/projections.
Interact with distributor finance teams under the guidance of Finance Manager, taking part in business reviews with the distributor, understanding the overall business through trade visits.
Support Emerging Asia Finance Manager’s work as one financial resource for Scotch Brands across all Asia by providing analytical support on Scotch value chain comparisons
Support Finance Manager and Area Managers regarding new RTC decision making/ contract renewals, and test different business possibilities leveraging external data sources as needed.
Analyze distributor inventory as it relates to major discrepancies between shipments and depletions in relevant markets (as needed basis).
Support the Finance Manager to ensure our financial results are accurately reported (proper expense classification within the P&L line items, properly supported accruals, monitoring of receivables, etc.).
Perform quarterly and annual distributor margin reconciliations for the cluster and help as needed distributor bonus reconciliations.
2. FP&A Process support 50%
Support maintenance of the planning calendar to coordinate corporate planning deadlines for quarterly forecasts, review meetings, and presentation of plans
Support the FP&A Manager on rolling forecasting process for the Asia region and help create the revised forecast templates
Support FP&A Manager in consolidating templates, reviewing forecasts, and challenging key assumptions, and providing a summary of Asia-wide opportunity & risks
Help develop tools for strategic long-term planning - Scotches & other strategic brands
Support the FP&A Manager in reviewing monthly and quarterly business results, update charts and slides for the EI MBR/QBR incorporating impactful visuals and content to facilitate compelling business story-telling around Asia performance
Support tracking of Brand Expense and reinvestment rates for Asia markets
Provide support on special projects and other ad hoc projects as required
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field with at 1 - 5 years post qualification experience.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently based on logical assumptions and factual information.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects to completion by agreed deadlines.
Experience with computer applications in accounting, budgeting and valuation techniques; in particular advanced PC skills incl. G-Suite, Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiar working with foreign currencies, exchange rates, and conversion factors.
Fluency in English language.
