Brown-Forman Credit collection & cash application Manager in Singapore, Singapore

Scope: Manage APAC credit and collections in accordance with BFB policies and procedures. Develop a financially sound customer base by applying the highest quality analytical expertise. Minimize DSO through proper term assignment and timely collections. Complete financial statement analysis for customers as required. Responsibilities: All Credit functions will be in accordance with SOX requirements and BF Policies and Procedures. This position is part of a Corporate Credit and Collection team that requires interacting, reporting, and communicating within the Credit Team, as well as the various operating units in APAC. Maintain and build strong relationships with our business partners. Will include visits to key accounts. Independently analyze and interpret financial statements received from new and existing customers and/or third party credit reporting agency reports. Use to make informed decisions for assigned accounts and make information available to other credit representatives as required for them to make sound credit decisions. This information will be handled in confidential manner, used for credit purpose only and summarized for Senior Management as requested. Use Credit Risk Model for consistency; establish credit (payment) terms and limits to insure maximum sales and minimum losses. Where necessary and/or required, review and prepare documents to negotiate letters of credit, bank drafts, and/or EFT. Daily review orders requiring special manual release to insure maximum sales while protecting the integrity of a major corporate asset, accounts receivable. Regularly review assigned customer accounts. If past due take appropriate steps with the customer and relevant internal groups (pricing, logistics, customer services, sales, etc.) to insure timely collection and/or resolve payment discrepancies. Prepare special sales, marketing and credit analyses reports, including but not limited to; distributor termination’s, quarterly bad debt accrual, gathering and interpreting information for analysis of DSO, report on collection status and problems encountered and other area credit reports when/if requested. Additionally, work with branches in assigned area to insure consistent reporting and adherence to SOX requirements and corporate policies and procedures. Branches must adhere to US GAAP. Assist Director of Credit in writing/updating sound policies and procedures and other duties as assigned. Must Experience: •Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 4-6 years experience; or 10 years equivalent education/experience combination. •Demonstrated ability to plan and organize multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. •Demonstrated Knowledge of integrated system software such as SAP. •Strong Analytical Skills. (Ability to read and understand financial statements) •Demonstrated ability to independently make sound business decisions. •Demonstrated ability to perform and adapt in a changing environment as necessary (Stress/tolerance/flexibility). •Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of internal and external company personnel; ability to maintain confidentiality of information entrusted. •Excellent English written and oral communication skills. •Experience with variety of software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point or equivalent. •Ability to work flexible schedule to meet deadlines. • Candidate should possess a sound knowledge of the region with at least 10 years of work experience in the region or as a citizen of a country in the region. Preferred Experience: International credit and collection experience and understanding of international financial statements, Masters Degree and/or CCE, CICE, with proven track record, Supervisory Experience and speaks one or more languages in the region in addition to English.
