Brown-Forman Commercial Analyst in Sydney, Australia

Job Description:

Scope of Position:

This role is a commercially focused finance position working closely with Sales & Marketing to guide and influence their decision making. While resource allocation and revenue management are at the core of all tasks, the scope of the role is broad and the incumbent is required to manage and prioritise several projects concurrently.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Adhoc Projects & Key Support for BP&A Manager and/or Senior Commercial Analyst

  • Complete the financial analysis of projects, supporting the Senior CA and/or BP&A Manager where required.

  • Assist other team members from within Finance, Sales and Marketing as well as the broader BP&A team during critical periods (Month end, budget time, etc).

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously is crucial.

Resource Allocation Analysis

  • Optimise B-F resource allocation to maximise profit by thorough analysis, providing clear justification for any recommended changes.

  • Influence business partners to direct resources in the most productive way.

  • Partner with the Finance Analyst (accounting team) during P&L Reviews to drive the resource allocation decisions.

Play a key role in the annual budget creation process

  • Supporting the overall BP&A team by being prepared and able to change focus so as to adapt to different business circumstances.

  • Lead and collaborate with the key stakeholders on the A&P budget inputs.

Create and deliver effective communication of the budget to the wider business.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in an Analyst position;

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Financial / business acumen

  • Strong business partnering skills

  • Ability to influence stakeholders

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage an ambiguous, varied, and unstructured workload

Preferred Requirements:

  • FMCG experience

  • Degree in Business/Finance/Management

  • Sales or marketing experience
