Our Australian team of 150 people, work in regional and city locations throughout the country, with offices in Sydney (Head Office), Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

Your new role:

Working with our global analytics team, your role will be responsible for leveraging multiple sources of data and advanced tools to develop directive analytics, and a strong visualisation of the data. You will partner with our various functions to identify strategic insights, and seek data driven gains in operational efficiencies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Visualisation

  • Support Business Intelligence reporting using advanced data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau.

  • Assist in developing Brown-Forman’s data visualisation techniques, designing diverse sets of structured and unstructured data.

Predictive Modeling & Machine Learning

  • Build causal and predictive models utilising statistical programming languages such as R and Python based on integrated data of various structures from numerous sources stored in a SQL environment.

  • Develop statistical modeling techniques to collect, analyse and interpret data

  • Design algorithms for building new data and features to expand modeling capabilities.

  • Assess models; provide proof and explanation for acceptance tests.

  • Create Deployment code for queries and R/Python to run automatically on historic data and for systematic updates

  • Work in tandem with Business Intelligence to develop distributed computing capabilities to handle large-scale data storage and computation, and deployment of such a platform for analytical purposes.

Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Review insights from statistical models for use across the organisation for strategic decision-making.

  • Work in collaboration with functional teams to identify data-driven solutions to ongoing needs across the organization.

  • Assist in the delivery of multiple projects by employing project management techniques.

About you:

  • 2 + years commercial analytics experience

  • Degree qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent

  • Proactive self-starter confident, with high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate strategy into action plans

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop robust working relationships with all levels

  • Strong experience in working to timeframes, completing multiple tasks and performing with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required to be considered for this role

Technical Skills

  • Experience / knowledge in analysing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools, and accomplished in the use of statistical analysis environments such as such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, Stata or SAS.

  • Experience / knowledge with relational databases such as SQL and NoSQL, as well as Hadoop-based data mining frameworks.

  • Knowledge of Hue Impala Cloudera platforms

  • Understanding of both structured and unstructured data

  • Experience and/or knowledge with Python, Java C/C++, Tableau platforms and software is highly regarded
