Brown-Forman Marketing Manager - Taiwan in TBD, Taiwan

Job Description:

Scope of Position:

  • Build and maintain the Marketing Strategy for the Scotch Single Malt Portfolio - Clearly map out the short, medium and long-term marketing plan for our brands in order to build and invest for the brands to become the top 5 malt brands in the country.

  • Manage and implement the Marketing plans of the entire Brown-Forman portfolio in Taiwan while working closely with the local partners for the execution.

  • Oversee Trade Marketing support and merchandising developments to ensure the balance between brand building and sales.

  • Analysis on the range of brand financial metrics including brand expenses, volumetric and fiscal reporting and future projection forecasting.

  • Creation, co-ordination and management of market activation; field experiential marketing / event activation activities at major consumer events in line with respective brand needs.

  • Strict management of brand spends across the entire family to ensure that the investment is spent on activations with the highest return on investment.

  • Working closely with the Global brand team to initiate product innovations and NPDs based on the country and the region’s needs to continuously layer incremental growth above organic growth.

Job Responsibilities:

Brand Management

  • Liaise with regional and global brand executives to ensure that brand plans adhere to global strategy

  • Devise and manage brand objectives, strategies and promotional programs in line with global brand strategies

  • Work closely with local business partners to ensure local marketing plans and spending are implemented the Brown-Forman way

  • Conduct research and generate Insights where necessary to aid the growth of different aspects of the brands such as equity, packaging, liquid and NPDs

  • Working closely with global marketing to gain support while taking initiations to gain support to drive necessary changes

  • Monitor brand performance against sales forecasts. Determine corrective action where necessary in conjunction with field sales staff


  • Manage the brand P&L

  • Prepare and present product/brand presentations and proposals

  • Liaise with agency partners in the design and production of marketing materials.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to On/Off Premise Brand Champions Commercial Management

  • Spend time in the trade to understand practical implementation of all marketing promotional activities

  • Lead and negotiate all sponsorship proposals and agreements to the benefit of the brand

  • Liaise with sales staff on the execution of marketing plans in the field, and review the effectiveness of all marketing activities.

  • Conduct full marketing evaluations and make recommendations for any changes that might benefit the brand

Required Experience & Education:

  • Education: High School/GED/Secondary School; College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Marketing or business related

  • Marketing or business related tertiary qualification -

  • In-depth local market knowledge and experience

  • 10-15 years of developing brands and category strategies – medium- and long-term and has demonstrated a successful track record

  • 3 years + in a man management role/leadership role

  • Superior communication skills

  • Should be Fluent in English & Mandarin

Preferred Experience & Education:

  • Education: Masters Degree (M.A., MBA or Equivalent);

  • Experience in trade marketing or consumer insights/commercial role

  • In-depth knowledge of Taiwanese trade and activation elements

  • Experience in liquor industry
