Brown-Forman Human Resources Manager - Japan in Tokyo, Japan
Meaningful Work from Day 1 The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering HR services, operations, projects and tactical support to the BF Japan. The position takes part in the change management process in terms of operational and tactical responsibilities as we move to Own Distribution, and as we continue to grow in the size of the organization. The position works independently as well as a part of the local HR team to plan and execute HR strategies and acts as a first point of contact for many of the employees and line managers in the business units.

Fosters a culture of teamwork and inclusion, promoting the shared understanding of B-F values and operating principles that align HR policies and practices to support the achievement of business goals.
Partners with Global Talent Acquisition and leaders in the recruitment and selection process, from job description development through Day 1 onboarding for salaried roles.
Provides counsel to employees and managers regarding questions or concerns
related to compensation, employee relations, performance management, coaching, etc.
Partners with the HR Director to support organizational structure initiatives, organization and culture change initiatives to build operational agility, diversity management and leadership capability, acting as a change agent.
Manages personnel administration processes for employees with personal changes, collection of necessary documents, ensuring regulatory and compliance training completion, etc.
Partners with other HRBPs and People Development team on HR Communications relating to performance management process, Global Communications and initiatives.
Supports performance management activities, overseeing and monitoring the
employee development plan process, providing counsel to managers and employees on the performance management process including: coordinating and overseeing the implementation of employee performance plans, and managing the process to a mutually-beneficial end for all involved.
Ensures uniform and equitable application of organizational policies and procedures including investigation and resolution of employee issues, if applicable.
Partners with other HR groups (Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Talent and Performance Management, and Employee Experience teams) to ensure complete and accurate processes are enlisted to support employees’ needs
What you will bring to the table
College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);
5+ years of experience in independent HR position, preferably in generalist function
Advanced computer skills with current, or ability to quickly build, proficiency of Google G Suite [Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar and Mail], Microsoft Word, Power Point,
Excel and other software, as needed.
Excellent collaboration, communication, coaching and influencing skills
Ability to build strong relationships throughout all levels and across cultures
Fluent English and Japanese in reading/writing as well as speaking/listening
