Brown-Forman Sales Operations Planner - Japan in Tokyo, Japan

Meaningful work from day one. The position will be responsible for improving the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization and will work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve all goals related to the sales organization. Specifically, this position will be responsible for supporting functions critical to the productivity of the sales organization, including sales budget planning and management, sales guideline development, sales process establishment (including strategy development/management/reporting, goal setting/management, sales process optimization, sales program implementation, and rebate design and management). The incumbent is a team player with a strategic and organizational mindset and the ability to build good working relationships with sales companies.

What you can expect

● Develop sales strategies, targets and budgets by region within sales organization

● Develop and manage commercial policy

● Sales data Analysis

● Processing sales data and reports relating to forecasts, plans, and budget

processes used within the sales organization

● Proactively monitors/controls and strives to maintain high levels of quality,

accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts

● Prepare analysis and recommendations for colleagues with Sales, Marketing and other internal stakeholders

● Assisting with planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within B-F Japan (Sales & business planning process)

● Be the KAMs (forecasting tool) “power-user” for the business and provide support to the organization through monthly processes & training.

● Working closely with sales & trade marketing to plan and manage merchandising campaigns in both On-trade and Off-Trade Channel.

● Manage a combination of existing sales/promotional dashboards and facilitate requests for customer information.

● Coordinate promotional data across commercial functions and cooperate with other functional departments to resolve queries and align with our promotional guidelines

● Assign and maintain product allocation across customers where there are new or planned listings

● Work closely with Finance and Pricing to monitor spend/discounting across our brands and customers

Continuous Improvement

● Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement

● Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement

● Works closely with sales management and IT to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s forecasting tool KAMs

Other Responsibilities

● Upload customers rebate and promotion invoices to the Salesforce platform and

ad-hoc administrative tasks within our systems

● Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives

● Actively ensures sales market compliance with laws, policies and best practices

● Spend time with sales teams and third party merchandisers in the field to

understand their role including opportunities & challenges faced

● Overall involvement in various commercial optimization projects as needed

● Other responsibilities as requested

Your Profile

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);

Experience: 5+ years experience in Sales Planning/Sales Operations/Trade Marketing

(commercial process) in FMCG (alcohol industry preferred)

Job Competencies:

● Understanding of standard Route to Consumer in Japan: Supplier - wholesalers - indirect customers (off-premise/on-premise)

● Knowledge of trade margins and rebates in FMCG industry. Western liquor

industry trade margin (wholesaler, retailer, bar supplier, on-premise outlets)

knowledge preferred

● Great analytical skills, commercially savvy and solution focused to solving

problems

● Excellent presentation skills and able to translate sales and analytics in a clear,

concise and visually appealing way

● Self-starter with proven ability to identify issues and projects, plan and prioritize with demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects to completion by specific deadlines

● Strong business acumen and judgment along with strategic capabilities

● Personal honesty and integrity. Strong work ethic with the ability to invest the

hours needed to accomplish the objectives

● Superior communication skills (influencing, listening, presenting, written)

● Ability to build strong relationships at all levels with strong stakeholder

awareness

● Collaborative team player, with conflict management skills

● Adaptable, flexible and resilient

● Highly IT literate - MS Office Applications & Google Suite

● Highly capable on Excel/ Google Sheets for the purpose of analysis
